Notice how he (Ortland) started off ranting about a dead dog and an illegal fruit stand. Then he started calling her Missus (Mrs) Greene.
Ortland is comical, but for all of the wrong reasons.
Happy to know you took the time to listen to the show... but, is this all you got out of this informative talk show and the serious issues discussed? Sad...:dgi:

Listening takes effort, you know... :taped2:

I listened to a little piece of the show and heard Ms Greene say that If children grow up in a Baptist home that would have some influence on where the children, when they are grown, worship. I agree!!

But when I said that the gays want to adopt children so that they can influence the next generation some said that I was crazy!! If they are allowed to do this they will contaminate the next generation with their warped "chosen" lifestyles!!

Even though I disagree with Vicky with his weird warped chosen lifestyle, I disagree with yoo on this one.

We lived in a neighborhood in West Palm which had a great deal of gay couples. Many adopted and or had the artificial insemination thing and there was a large group of babies in the year prior to us moving here.

I doubt the persons I know who were into this flaunted the lifestyle.

The gay parents don't have to teach their children to be gay ya know.....All they have to do is provide a good home, be good parents, treat their children with respect and make them think that they don't care what lifestyles they choose and the rest take care of itself!!!

They don't have to flaunt anything!!! Reverse phycology my friend!!

The talk show on More 94 FM with Ms. Greene had one of its largest listening audience on record. Even the call-in lines to the radio station with those seeking to comment on the air was "ringing off the hook"!

In fact, this show had such a tremendous impact on Bahamian Society that a major newspaper not only ran a front page story on it, but also included a strong commentary in its editorial section admonishing callers who "had the audacity to usurp God's justice and declare that persons who "live in sin", such as homosexuals, should expect to come to a bitter end."

The following are excerpts of the Tribune Newspaper, Thursday, June 12, 2008, article, "Callers in radio murder discussion say gay people deserve to die", written by Megan Reynalds:

A DISCUSSION about the recent spate of may murders in Nassau gave rise to comments from callers to a morning talk show that gay people deserved to die.

The callers justified their horrifying comments with quotes from the Bible.

Gay rights activist Erin Greene from the Rainbow Alliance talked to Ortland Bodie Jr and took calls on More 94 Fm's Real Talk Live yesterday morning to discuss the recent murders of reportedly gay men Wellington Adderly and Marvin Wilson, whose deaths followed the brutal killings of prominent gay men Harl Taylor and Dr. Thaddeus McDonald in November last year.

Ms Greene wanted to start a debate on the violence affecting everyone in the Bahamas. and particularly the gay community, which makes up around 10 per cent of the Bahamian population.

Ms. Greene said: "Prominent gay men have been murdered and those murders have not been solved. how can we, together, as a community and a country, help the police solve murders and build a safer communities, because this violence isn't isolated to the gay community, but it is far out of proportion."

From the time the show began at 10:30 am the phone lines were jammed with listeners who wanted to have their say.

Several callers were of the opinion that people who live "in sin", such as homosexuals, should expect to come to a bitter end.

One caller said: "I am for human rights until you conflict your so-called rights wit the laws of God."

Another added: "We fall ourselves in the pit because of our own choice. If I am living a diabolical life on a daily basis, what can I expect?"

Yet another caller agreed: "If we live those lifestyles, those are the consequences we will have to deal with."

Ms Greene retorted : "You make it sound like gay people are dying because of their sin but what about the people who run red lights, putting other lives in danger or child abusers, or the people who watch child molesters?

"We all die, and we all struggle in our human experience. Bad things don't happen to people because they are bad. Bad things happen to people because we don't take enough care and concern for our community and our neighbours."

Ms. Greene won support from callers whose concern for the safety of the whole community came above the vilification of homosexuals.

Lawyer Elsworth Johnson spoke up for the human rights of all, as did a Nassau Village resident who said: "We live in a hypocritical society and we need to accept people for who they are."

You have just pin-pointed what should be of the utmost concern to every member of the Clergy, Constabulary, Legal Fraternity, Educator, Sociologist, Psychologist, Parent, Concerned neighbors, etc and that is: What yardstick will then be used to protect children from being socialized into what was formerly called sexual molestation, sodomy, incest, rape?

And guess what? I'm sure that my printed affirmation of your idea will draw out the slippery-semantical reasonings of those who wish to defend this ungodly position, but I know that in such matters, silence is considered consent. So come on down!

How do you figure I choose to be a gender dysphoric?? It is a condition that is listed in -the International Classification of Diseases-10 (ICD-10)
or the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders--Fourth Edition (DSM-IV)

Stop asking stupid questions!!!! I am tired of your warped views and trying to make other people's views look like the warped ones!!!

You can be taught to be a pilot, a sharp shooter, to ride a bike, english, maths, science etc. So why can't someone be taught to be gay!!!

To be taught something, all one has to do is want to learn....Training to be gay or straight is no different!!!

Nah, you could call me stupid all you want but it will do nothing to change my views!!

Many people became gay because they were convinced to try it once and they liked it while others just lie about how they got started!!

That's why I always tell my children to choose their friends wisely!!! In almost every case, if one hangs out with drunkards, one would become one and the same goes for just about everything you can think of!!

Just hang around the wrong people and you will see!!!

But one can only be influenced if one is interested in whatever they are being influenced by if not it will have no affect on you!! Either way it still boils down to making a CHOICE!!!

The following are excerpts from an editorial which appeared in The Tribune Newspaper on Thursday, June 12, 2008:

Homosexual killings not justified

...But even more depressing were callers into a talk show yesterday morning, who had the audacity to usurp God's justice and declare that persons who "live in sin", such as homosexuals, should expect to come to a bitter end.

Another holier-than-thou soul had the audacity to say: "I am for human rights until you conflict your so-called rights with the laws of God."

In other words the recent murders of four homosexual men were justified. According to the callers to this radio show these men had lived in sin, and were justly punished.

Only God knows the whole story of anyone's life and only he can judge who has sinned against his laws -- there might mitigating circumstances in an individual's life that only God knows of and on which only he can pass judgement. Remember, according to the Bible, Jesus even took a thief to Paradise with him.

If individuals are going to bypass a court of law, where flawed human justice is handed down, and condone murder because they claim a man or woman is sinning against God's law, then we had all better take for the hills - none of us is safe with such a neighbour.

One would think that these people would pay more attention to their own frail lifestyles to ensure that they approach the Pearly Gates, rather than trying to second guess God's judgement on their neighbours.

These judgemental souls are the very people in whose faces the door to salvation will be slammed. Their sin? Arrogance. Setting themselves up as petty gods in judgement on who should live and who should die. One can only forgive their ignorance.

They must remember that just as God created them, he also created the homosexual. He loves them both with all their faults, and only he can say which of them is more worthy of his paradise.
