These types of comments may be grounds for an appeal against an unfavuorable decision by her Court, at least that is what I would argue. Too many people who should know better are absolutely clueless. It is really scary. Keith Bell was quoted in a daily as saying that there are 48k traffic cases pending, and about 12000 armed robbery cases. This sounds like a lot, but I would like some data from Barbados say, with similar demographics, or from the UN where we can compare numbers per capita, weighted against wealth, etc., to see how we are doing before we throw momma off the train
This is some scary shyte on its face. What is the plan to address the matter of our Courts? They need to dismiss those cases that they do not intend to prosecute. Why are these matters still on the books? Bell was also quoted as saying too that there are cases pending before the Court that go back to 1970! What happened to first in first out?
man If the courts were smart we could pay off a sizeable amount of our national debt with the proceeds from settling these cases. let's hope that's the silver lining in this conundrum.

I think Mrs. Zonicle has made a serious mistake by not going ahead with this case. She is one of the reasons why police do not respond quickly to cases of domestic violence.I hope for her sake that she goes to counselling with her husband. If not it will be a repeat performance again and who knows the outcome may be even worst.
U spot on...soun' like u no wat u talkin. Can argie wit dis pernt.

I have witnessed so many women that were abused and make up excuses for their abusers. These women go back time and time again believing that things would change, but sadly it only gets worst.

I am both shocked and dissappointed in her stance on such a serious charge. The child is the one who suffers either way, especially witnessing the ordeal. Mrs. Zonnicle, as a national figure, must realise the example that she has set, especially to other "victims". What is going to happen, when someone comes to her for advise? (Just a thought)
On the other hand, it should be a crime that is prosecuted nonetheless. Shoudl not matter whether the victim has no interest. The fact that you called showed that you needed and wanted help! What will be the outcome next time?
Brings me to another point. Have you considered the lyrics of our songs? I remember one....Slap her down again boy/ Slap her down again/ Everytime she get up boy/ Slap her down down again
Is it just me or are we to blame for the mental state of BOTH our male and female citizens?
Thanks for your thoughts!:taped2:

Paulette Zonicle is an adult, who is capable of making decisions for herself. If she had no interest in the case, then that's the end of the matter. She was the prosecution's principal witness. If he had killed her, the Crown would have had complete jurisdiction over his prosecution.
