Congrats to her. We need to gather around her, thank Ida Poitier for her service thus far and getting a little raise for the teachers and for holding the fort, but we need to look to the future and work with Belinda.
From what I heard, she has allot she wants to accomplish. Also, there is allot the teachers want. We have to get that sorted.
I am all for forgiveness man, and you people should be as well. The lady may have atoned for her transgressions and we need to accept that and that God has his hands in everything.
Would have said the same thing if Ida had won, but would be a little disapointed if she won under controversy---the minute I saw the votes taking so long, I was thinking this was going to be a May 2002 election issue all over again. Glad it was not and we can move forward!

The May 2nd election was shrouded in controversy, and if this one was, I would have been lobbying for the best result; election reform, anyone? When the court case in Pinewood was over and done, I said, and I can be quoted in saying, the PLP should simply pull back and let the FNM, govern. With no plan and all.

You see, your divisiveness for the FNM, and I understand that you have to do it, and sheer political tribal stupidity, which all sides have been prone to from time to tome, has you so patently in gear for the kool-aid stand attendant, only if you can get away from drinking it for any length of time, that anything that goes off of you being stuck on stupid for your party, must be read and seen the way you feel it should be- against your agenda. Lastly, at least Belinda has a plan moving forward, which she would like to work with. Some idea on getting some new things going, on top of run of the mill union initiatives, which should be getting done in the first place; health care, security and pensions.

55% of the teachers DO NOT SUPPORT HER!!! which is the majority. This should make up for a very interesting term.

Will you quit attacking the results, because of politics? The same can be said about this government, getting 49% of the vote in the last election. So, please. What would you expect for people to do, when they had 4 candidates- very good ones, including the incumbent? The votes would be "split"......the one who gets the majority, wins however.

However, if you wanna go there, I can give you another narrative, in that more importantly, the incumbent came in third. People supported her LESS than they did a virtual unknown, male teacher at that. That's really bad for an incumbent, who folks said would WIN hand over fist!!

This is a CLEAR majority of the split vote. Plurality. What did you want, 90% to vote for Belinda? In fact, if we split the other two persons votes evenly, and allow Ida and Belinda to keep their respective votes, Belinda would have over 60% --more than 2/3 rds.

Enn nobody from GB gettin elected to no major position in dis Country.
