View Full Version : Abaco News to the WORLD.......
Tranquil 06-11-08, - 02:52 PM Good afternoon,I write to let you know that I am one of the guardians who has a child at the Abaco Central High School also and can really say that evrything that "]peaceful ] said is absolutley the truth.i recently moved to the abacos and think this town is beautiful despite the fact that your bahamian child is scared to go to the government school. My daughter told me that during the last 2 weeks a student wrote her entire exam in creole and the teacher was very upset....how would you explain that?that young girl cannot even speak english and she is in school.SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT RIGHT?The lady in charge of the school is half -hatian her selyf and goes by the saying"every one deserves a chance"and for that the school is basically filled with the hatians. As far as riots are concerned ,that happens about 4-5 times in a month. It is just sooo strange that you in Nassau and all over dont ever hear about this and this is a real improtant issue.People, this thing is very serios over here and the Vice principal of that school says nothing, she just sits her fluffy buns on by,because i guess she wants to become 'THE PRINCIPAL' someday......In September...lol.The ministry of EDUCATION has alot of work to do before Sept.I am not dicriminating at all but for what i see the lil haitians are taking over Abaco ...not a doubt about it.The schools over here government owned sucks!!!!!!!and no-one seems to want to deal with this,Ive tried the head of police ....they are still WORKING ON IT.and this was from January becuz they are afraid to go in the MUDD....WAT NONSENSE IS THAT? HOW many other times does this have to happen to get these illegals away?
chancellor 06-11-08, - 02:57 PM This is an english speaking country. Unless the person is taling creole classes online from COB and doing that exam, the student needs to be doing english before anything else.
sapadilly 06-11-08, - 03:00 PM Look here. Kreyole is a language that is learned verbally by most Haitians. Most Haitians dont know how to write kreyole ok. So come again with the lil writing in Kreyole. She might speak it, but write, probably not.
The kreyole lexicon is still very much developing, some many Haitians have to take class to learn to write it themsleves.
Try AGAIN!
Tranquil 06-11-08, - 04:59 PM for your info, you seem like its no problem, but it is!!!!!!do you know the hassle s and run arounds we have to do as parents to get our bahamian children in school?do you know?they require everything....but how is it that when the hatians jump ship and come over with sometimes their children ,and they get them into the system because government say they are underaged and everyone is entitled to education.aND THATS HOW IT ALL BEGINS.........
sapadilly 06-11-08, - 05:03 PM for your info, you seem like its no problem, but it is!!!!!!do you know the hassle s and run arounds we have to do as parents to get our bahamian children in school?do you know?they require everything....but how is it that when the hatians jump ship and come over with sometimes their children ,and they get them into the system because government say they are underaged and everyone is entitled to education.aND THATS HOW IT ALL BEGINS.........
If the Haitian children got into school it is because their parents handed in the Proper paperwork ON TIME. Bahamian parents feel like det should be able t walk into the school and get a seat anytime. WRONG.
THE MOE has deadlines and procedures, so if ya follow dem, and dont turn up on the first day of school, wit ya chile in uniform and not registered. Your child would have a seat. See rules are rules, for Haitians AND Bahamians.
Lady_chippie 06-11-08, - 05:09 PM If these kids are pushed to do their best and get educated then maybe they will be less of a problem as adults.
what do u think?

i thank God you wrote this - i was getting so frustrated at this disbelief that these things are not happening - i didn't even mention the test in creole because the child does not speak English - all i can say is i will send you a personal message so that we can get together and petition other parents for change and combat this terrible situation -

Tried hard send Nassau for your child birth records and make sure you have they immunization papers, and make sure ya go BEFORE september to register ya chile.
I trying to figure how the Haitian children parents have proper documents and others dont. Your story full of holes man.

look here i don't have time for foolishness
this tranquil speaking the God honest truth the schools are over run - no space
furthermore as simple as P.M.H you now have to pay for a bed TO HAVE BABIES NOW because of too much strain on the guvment
what i said to you is the truth - how in God's name you ga tell me a child who don't speak no English and in the 11th grade - could have special privilege and have translation of the entire exams ?
furthermore if you go to the schools you would know that many children required little or no documents and in many cases with children who are being transferred - they admit pending documents
- furthermore many foreigner depend on school records later in life to apply and as grounds for citizenship and residency because they have no other identification - many cases of stateless people and if you want to live in a bubble and say that never ever happens then come out frOm time to time to get some air - hear?.

Den you need to spend your time lobbying for more schools, simple.
As far as PMH goes, GOOD I GLAD. WHY SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT PAY FOR ANYBODY TO HAVE A CHILD. YOU CHOSE TO HAVE THE CHILE, WELCOME TO PARENTHOOD.
Furthermore, if the child needed translation what is problem? Translation does not equal cheating. Sound like ya mad cuz dat chile perform betta den the english speaking ones.
