All of these personal notes from Lurker and the rest of you guys, going on about this and that....do we have to indulge in this filth, primarily?

Sometimes, you guys don't even get at any issues- like abuse of power, or anything criminal. Its as if you like the sip sip and nothing more.

I find the gossip mongering and scandal whoring, to be filthy!

I have heard this from folks on this board before. I never quite got what you meant by "pre-engineered" threads. I doon have no agenda man......at least not to pre-engineer a whole thread, to solicit certain responses.

You need to sit back and enjoy it young man, take it in stride, unless you are running for MP or Prime Minister in 2012 and feel threatened by the truth.

That's just it, allot of these things, aren't even true. There is no way these people would be so deep into other folks personal business.

With that, I find the coutnry gossip, to be very unhealthy. Why would we sit around, talking about other people's personal lives?

I don't care who former PM Christie or current PM Inrgaham, slept with last night, or 20 years ago. Why should we get involved in that?

We get toooo personal on this site man. I just think its a sign of our mental sickness, to be honest. There are a wide host of people, who just read this site, looking for unsubstantiated country gossip, without it even being anything that would be brought before the courts as legal or illegal.

Why should we care who beat who's wife last night? While the school rapes and child molestation issues were police matters and open for discussion, but there is a level of decency, for your own mind, one should follow.

There are enough of the SERIOUS ISSUES to debate, other than this country gossip. It causes problems and it is fruitless. This Punch and Bloggy lifestyle, have gotten your priorities warped. That's why we can't get sound social movement on the issues in this country, yinna too consumed with petty sh1t.

And it kills families......these folks, especially when you lie or make up stories on their personal businesses, have families. I met an MP, who ran behind his wife, after this politricks business had killed his family for utter lies. Not even anything that can be mis-construed as mis-approprations or favours like how Mona-Vie was, but straight out lies, built on canards and falsehoods.

That's not country gossip, Bahamiangoddess.

Did I lie on Lurker, or did I ask him a question about his beliefs? Did I dig into his personal life in order to make up stories, or did I just ask him a question, as a citizen, not as a country leader, but, a question about his positions on certain issues? That's not gossip Bahamiangoddess, and I most certainly knew, someone, like you, would have gotten the issues confused.

With the second one, as you would READ the sentence, which said; "Now, I am not concerned about the gap seed this kind of story would create." But, more importantly, I said this afterwards; "My thing is, did he or did he not just admit to a crime of some sort? He knowingly infected women with AIDS. In the US that is a criminal offence, punishable by the law with incarceration."

So, I know full well, because this sickness has gone so far, we would have issues with bifurcating what is slanderous gossip, or just simply discussing the issues, from a moral, social and political aspect.

You must have been searching all night and day, trying to find any sort of hypocritical position I took, with ill regard to even you thinking that it would make you out to be totally void of any moral compass, in assessing what's nasty gossip, from talking about the issues.....typical.

Read the post above this one, and ask yourself, was I concerned with slandering anyone? Talking and making up stories on their personal lives or history, or, was "talking" about the impact of the issues.....

You have to be able to read more critically than that.

With that, I NEVER said, that I never indulged in it, in the past most certainly, allthough you would find some posts to substantiate that to anything you are willing to spin, the fact of the matter is, it is still not right...and, standing by, and not saying where right is or wrong is, is more damaging than not standing up and saying it is wrong, for fear of being called a hypocrite.

That being said, BahamianGoddess and B21, you have to actually put together a correct analogy, with irrefulatble evidence, that points to me getting deep in country gossip...even before we get to the point where you would find me hypocritical, on any machination you would dream up.

to this is that, it always gets out of hand into what I would describe as idle gossip and tangled in the mischef and screwtany of some imagination or beliefs.:)

I always tried to talk about the issues. As of late, I have been trying to speak more about the issues, over this country gossip stuff.

But, you are right, allof of times, and I think its on purpose, we lose sight of the issue, and get shrouded in the skullduggery of the issue and more particularly, the actors involved.

Bahamiangoddess just proved my point. Here I am, talking about the issue of country gossip, and she went ahead, and wanted to say "look at this hypocrite"..without even getting the jist of the issue. Have seen it everytime, a pastor or leader, gets up and says something, we then in turn, start talking about his personal life, without even asking about or getting to the heart of what he/she said or what importance the issues are.

That's really bad and very unhealthy, as Bahamians, we are horrible offenders of this.

Now Now Alien, lets not go there, it took less than 3 mins to go to ALL THREADS STARTED BY ALIEN to find these and more than I left out!!!

This is a letter allegdly written by this person and passed around. Gossip can be spread via words spoken and words printed. This supposedly AI.D.S letter is the latter. This matter has not been proven to be true and has never been adjudicated by any court in the Bahamas. Hence it can be chalked up to gossip, unless proven to be true!!!!

Just so you know, there is no need to go all the way to the U.S. Just look in the Sexual Offences & Domestic Act 1991. Section 8 subsection (2) of the BAHAMAS LAWS and you will find that it is also an offence in the BAHAMAS punishable by law with incarceration.
