I am wondering because...I watched the first half of the game at Bennigan's and it full...the rounds coming and the food coming in abundance! Bahamians can find money for what they want.

Then as I travelled home, Top Shotters full....no space in the parking lot....Poop Deck @ Sandyport full, and Nesbit's full....I assume all game watchers. And let's not talk about the big betting going on!

Newayz....just asking!

Ppl will complain but they have to buy food and gas however the rubber meets the road. I know I factor in gas/groceries/lunch after the mortgage and utilities...as I need gas to get to work to pay the bills and I need to eat to sustain me so that I can work!

BOL! Lady you are funny, boots!

...but seriously, I always factor in living expenses...you know the money you spend trying to remind yourself that you're living and not some worker drone. I mean, broke or not I like to enjoy myself. Drinks, a movie, vacation, the club once in a while...you can't blame people for wanting to deal with their stress...

You still like Bennigan's? The food? Their menu is weak. First time I ordered the fish it was ok, next time, burnt and greezy..major disappointment.

Last night was my first trip there.......I am not sure...the jury is still out for me! I had the grilled chicken breast and shrimp with the guiness sauce! IT was ok...nothing to scream about!

The cocktails were good though...

I don’t believe we are in a recession. I do believe we are tottering on the brink of one - which way we fall depends on how we act.

This recession is new for most Bahamians, cause during the past when the US goes in recessions they usually comes out in short time. Not like this one which i think will last into 2009.

Come September if we don't start living on a budget, we will be hollering.

Yes indeed. Bank notes are not getting paid as wek speak. I think Wilchombe said that bank deliquency, is at about 17%---don't take me to gospel with that, as he mentioned about three sets of figures. But, the number, was highly unnatural.

My thing is, with that, and, the increase of over 100%- in some cases- in bank's fee's, would that mean that banks would be facing pressure and be forced into "not" lending? The country does not need that kind of squeeze now, or, we don't need to give banks that type of incentive, again, to force them to cut back and make adjustments. In fact, people need as little pressure from the banks, in regards to credit and collection and reduced credit from the bank, as much as possible.

BOB, RBC, Citibank, Scotia and FCIB all went up in fee's to about 80%; all paying now, over 700k now annually. If the main service providers are going to cut back on consumer lending, and if they can't push the economy forward, and people are now deliquent, we may have the dreaded.....gasp...stagflation economy. Because, prices are going up, because we are price takers and it is not under our control. No new credit in the pipelines. Bank's start to take back what they can from loans. No job creation.

If you want to see if The Bahamas is in a recession, the LAST thing you should look at as evidence is spending habits.

Brown Suga, you make a good point... But you KNOW you can't mind these people, right?! LOL.
