hillary strikes again! http://www.godlikeproductions.com/sm/custom/gonkspno.jpegPresident Bush, informed of Russert's death while at dinner in Paris, swiftly issued a statement of condolence that praised the NBC newsman as "an institution in both news and politics for more than two decades. Tim was a tough and hardworking newsman. He was always well-informed and thorough in his interviews. And he was as gregarious off the set as he was prepared on it."

RIP
Timothy John Russert, Jr

When death comes unexpectedly to someone we think we know, my thoughts and heart some how go to the fact that I will someday die and yes as grouper said we all have to die...

I was just about to run to a meeting in my office and was about to turn the TV off when the announcenet was made by Tom Broker... I was shocked... and immediately relected on how Tim would always use his faith as a symbol of his only life..... he was never ashamed of it he let the world know...

I take comfort in knowing that Mr Russert was a practicing Catholic. His faith was alive and listeining to him talk about his faith made me so proud to be catholc...

I heard him many time talking about his Catholic Valuse on Meet the Press.. he spoke so much about his education at Boston college been educated by the Jesuit.

His family was hif life and he let the world know.. I recalled how he called for his beloeved church to address the clergy abuse scandal directly in some of his programs and interviews...

To me he was a person of faith, and as a lay catholic I took as much time to watch all of his programs and in many ways he was a good preacher of the gospel simply by his hard work and dedication to fairness..

I recalled how he spoke so much about his private audience with Pope John Paul II in 1985.. he was a great person....

RIP Tim..

We love you but Jesus Loved You the Best....

Gone Tooo SOON !!!!!

What made him so good? the fact that even though he worked as an aide for a Democratic governor, when he took over Meet The Press, no one in politics sense his political leaning. The man was flat out fair. You knew going on his show that no matter what your political leaning, you were gonna get grilled.

You know your respect when all three of the cable news networks (CNN, FOX, and MSNBC) break their normal format and is still talking about him.

When i heard the news i was shocked. I am still shocked.

:rip: Heartfelt sympathy to Russert’s family and colleagues.

He was absolutely remarkable. Perhaps his memory will be an inspiration to local broadcasters. Some can take a page out of his book for fair and balanced reporting. But first, they must learn to do their homework so they can ask relevant questions and inform/educate the public. They must move away from trying to “wing” it especially since the public wants/expects more when they listen/view news, documentaries, talk shows etc. Imagine! He took “Meet the Press” from #3 to #1. Just look at the accolades he received in his lifetime. I guess quality and excellence were his watchwords. He will be greatly missed.

Tim Russert will be soreley missed this political season. I think the debate he moderated with Obama and Clinton was the best one. His questions were more challenging and their answers more revealing. May he R.I.P.
