I remember a program called "snapped" this woman shot her wife-beating-husband right in da head while he was asleep, she left his body in the bed for like almost a year and she sealed off the room, this woman will never taste freedom again.

Quite true, if awake and a struggle ensued, self defense would be utterly appropriate . If asleep she had time to premeditate her vengeance and should be held accountable for her actions. "KILLED WHILE ASLEEP", that is MURDER, the man was defenseless. What would it have taken away from her to just walk away? Why kill? Regardles of the nature in wich the matter transpired, the fact remains that she is responsible for taking a life. If she was unable to yield while being provoked once, what is to happen when others fill the shoe of the provokee?. There will be others that will fill that shoe. Does that make it o.k to kill them as well and label it SELF DEFENSE?
