View Full Version : Thus said the Lord...
foxhillgal 06-13-08, - 10:09 PM Could it be that the Lord our God wish is for non to be judged…not even ourselves, and for the full acceptance even of our own personal faults?
start with your self.......................
WinterGrace 06-13-08, - 10:19 PM Is there such a thing as almost perfect or a little pregnant..you're either perfect or not so where is the joy in un-acomplishments?
the joy comes in being obedient to God.....His accomplishments is different from man's.....if you have Jesus Christ...God is already pleased with you.
Lady Russell 06-13-08, - 11:24 PM A very encouraging thread. Many thanks!
I am reminded of the Apostle Paul, who though suffering with what he described as "a thorn in the flesh" said in his final greeting to the Corinthians in Chapter 13 verse 9: "Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfectionn, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you."

I hope after that speech, they enjoyed some fish, peas and rice, Mac and cheese and some johnnycake
grouper2 06-13-08, - 11:45 PM Nobody is good, said the lord Jesus Christ, but God alone; and as long as life goes on no human will ever reach that stage of total perfection in anything.
That being said.. here is my question; why do we futilely try, day in and out, to change ourselves and others for the “better” when we rightfully know, or ought to, that it is an impossible quest?
Bouy, whit da Avatar you r either french, dancer one of dem:cutie:... which 1 is it?:D
Da Clique 06-13-08, - 11:52 PM We place so much emphases upon the “self” as one living only for today with little, if at all any, regards to those that shall live tomorrow. In a sense, we seek to lift ourselves above others. In doing so we separate our destiny from that of the world; living only to manifest the God of creation personifies in our flesh proving before the world how better we are than humanity from whence we all came.
I simple ask; is it so hard to accept ourselves for what and who we our without changing our original character?

I wish you were here, I'd take you to a good dinner and introduce you to the BIG FISHERMAN who said: "Man does not live by bread alone,....."

I think it's idealistic to try to change the world around us for the better. But, if you interpet the Bible literally, what good will it do? The world will come to an end anyway, right?
That hasn't stopped me for trying to better myself, the world and the people in it though. As Paul suggests only the things done out of love, including this, has true meaning. So from a Christian standpoint, it's not futile at all.
At the very least, we are to love all around us...the criminal, the homophobe and even those that lack a fashion sense....whom I pray for the most....
sangee 06-14-08, - 02:48 AM I love the Lord because he gives us free choice in life and choose to serve God Through Jesus Christ. GOD'S laws were broken from the beginning of time and Man still think they know what they think God really meant in his word and nobody can tell them anything because they live by their feeling and sight. God never told us about A.I.D.S he just said no sex before marriage and with on partner. he never tells you the results just the Laws
Vicky 06-14-08, - 07:35 AM Who says we do try to change ourselves and others.
uh knock knock any one home.
Vicky 06-14-08, - 07:36 AM Let’s not be modest..
There are people in all of our lives that our obsessed with self improvement or those that seek only to improve others…without first removing the beam out of their eyes.
you nailed that one
Vicky 06-14-08, - 07:40 AM all hearsay

Vicky 06-14-08, - 07:43 AM How about excepting others for who and what they are without passing personal judgments

Vicky 06-14-08, - 07:49 AM the joy comes in being obedient to God.....You mean by building a railing around the roof of your house wearing clothing of mixed fiber, by using your tithes to buy wine and stong drink and to hate insult and treat differently those that don't fit your ideal His accomplishments is different from man's.....if you have Jesus Christ...God is already pleased with you.
