Dependence upon becoming affiliated with political movers and shakers played a tremendous part in the overall growth and development of our nation, and by the way everything is going, I can see no encouraging signs to suggest that we will or even want to change.
I hear you, but I've learned that human beings can change and accomplish seemingly impossible feats, with God's help. In other words, as soon as we collectively see the futility of remaining dependent on the logic of frail and flawed men, then we'll consult God, who has not lost a battle yet.
I read the cynicism in some of your threads and it is clear that you have not yet made a commitment to Jesus Christ as personal Savior. I truly wish that there was a more modern and elegant way to communicate the concept of Salvation, but alas and alack, there is not!
All of the ugliness and human failure to which you allude are realities. Yet the God who purposed The Bahamas had in mind that there would emerge a people out of all of the centuries of filth and shame, who would choose to serve Him.
Your brilliance is not simply for small talk and elegant dinner banter. You are very needed in the Kingdom, to further God's purposes for our Bahamas. Yes, it is an alternate reality of which I speak and if you have read any of C.S. Lewis' books or seen the Chronicles of Narnia, then you must know that The Kingdom of God is Reality. While much of our mundane existence is mere fantasy and illusion.
The Scripture says that Faith comes by hearing The Word of God and from my own memory, I recall my father repeating concepts, that sounded antiquated and having me read scriptures, which seemingly made no sense when compared to Mr. Edward St. George's wealth or Sir Lynden Pindling's political power. Why did I need this Jesus and I already had powerful friends?
And then one day, I got it! I apprehended the true purpose for my life and it has never been the same.
I pray that God will send able and credible witnesses to speak the reality of His Righteousness (Right Ways of Doing Things) to you and that you would accept the free gift of Salvation. Amen!
