Nobody is good, said the lord Jesus Christ, but God alone; and as long as life goes on no human will ever reach that stage of total perfection in anything.

That being said.. here is my question; why do we futilely try, day in and out, to change ourselves and others for the “better” when we rightfully know, or ought to, that it is an impossible quest?

Let’s not be modest..

There are people in all of our lives that our obsessed with self improvement or those that seek only to improve others…without first removing the beam out of their eyes.

No one can change themselves..............................only Jesus Christ can change us, we dont find HIM, He finds us!

Its when we try by our might we mess up...........I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthans me.

I am not speaking to every one, but I am speaking to some one.............

Do we really change or are we just holding on to theorie beyond our own ability to fully Comprehend; thus interjecting our personal misguided beliefs for any form of rational comforts?

The first verse that springs to mind is:

(Lev 11:44) For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:

We never reach perfection, as far as holiness goes - we could be or God would never have commanded it! :)

"and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:"

Shall be is not as definite as will be; therefore one could conclude that it is not in our destiny to reach a state of holiness nor perfection here in our earthly form...why then bother?

On the contrary, I think “shall” is almost an order! It also puts the onus on us.

For those that believe, na lissen, not for those that are PERFECT those that BELIEVE!
But of course, faith is the first step in any religion. I think that verse assumes that as it is directed to believers.

But don’t those that believe become perfect (at least in the sight of God) because of Christ’s atoning work on the cross?
