YOU ARE BEYOND ULTRUISTIC. . .YOU BORDER ON STUP!DITY MAN!!!
YOU NEED TA GO AND STUDY DA ROMANS. . .WHERE AND HOW DEM COME TA BE!!!! TWILL BE INTERESTING INDEED!!!:hammer:
ONLY THE TRUTH HURTS, AYE? Your prejudice stance against the Haitians seems to have blinded your sense of reasoning... :taped2:
IMO, this is not about Roman History. In fact, I cannot think of a single example from their history that could parallel the present situation with the influx of Haitians into the Bahamas today. :dgi:
But, if you care to march wits with me on historical facts, then PM me... otherwise, stick to the subject at hand... :)
Brown Suga 06-16-08, - 09:01 AM Wow!
And I agree they should have been deported (or whatever is legal based on their status here) after the first incident!
I just saw in this morning's paper that these people's residency status was revoked!
YorickBrown 06-16-08, - 10:02 AM Problem is too many of you'll equate the word 'Haitian' with negative, even cuss..:
Hey now. Stop making generalizations. If you look at most of the arguments here they only address the illegal immigration situation.
It appears that most times when the topic of illegal immigration comes up, persons tend to immediately speak negatively about Bahamians and the isolated incidents of bad treatment that Haitians sometimes get.
This "demonizing" of Bahamians on the whole needs to stop. Haitians and Bahamians of Haitian descent for the most part in this nation live a better, practically unhindered life that is quite unlike anything than they would ever experience in Haiti. For those select few who want to get mad at Bahamians for whatever reason, someone needs to ask them where is their outrage at what is happening in their own country and what do they plan to do about it.
So correct your statements and tell the truth. A MINORITY of Bahamians equate the word Haitian with negativity. Even fewer actually treat Haitians badly, but guess what? Today's Bahamians tend to even treat our own like sh*t, so why do Haitians get all up in arms as if people are targeting them?
SOME of you know quite well that Bahamians as a collective are not as friendly as we once were, REGARDLESS. It's a social issue and has nothing to do with whatever nationality one may be! I guess that those of you who are speaking negatively about Bahamians have forgotten that fact.

If they were a threat to national security that is a good start.
Causing riot(s) sounds like a legitimate reason to me.

But here in lies the problem, this ruling woul dhave been handed down years ago. The riots (NV) were about 5 years ago...so why are the still here. Why wasn't the ruling enforced!

Illegal immigration is a serious threat to our national security.
Madison1985 06-16-08, - 01:50 PM If all u say here is true... it's unusual! Haitians do have some distinguishing features... most groups of ppls. do! What's the big deal with that? Chinese look chinese???

Haiti has more millionaires than we have people

Haiti has more millionaires than we do people so you cant say we have more than they ever could imagine in Haiti.

The haitians that we normally see around the Bahamas do not represent the whole nation of people. Haiti has millions of people with different ethnic backgrounds.Just how we have Chinese-Bahamians, Indian-Bahamian and so forth, so does haiti.Haiti also has a huge mulatto population who are in most cases wealthier than the ones of African decendants.I recall my last trip to Fort Lauderdale when I was in a store. There were two light skin girls that we call conchyjoe speaking creole. They were tall and slim with really long hair. I asked them where they were from and they replied that they were from Haiti. I was suprised because i just like so many people believed that Haitians all had the same features.

I think it is with the younger generation. The older haitians of days gone by were generally peacful and hard working.
YorickBrown 06-16-08, - 02:59 PM Haiti has more millionaires than we do people so you cant say we have more than they ever could imagine in Haiti.Stay focused and stop getting technical.
My reference only pertained to those who live here.
Besides, your statement only shows that much of the responsibility of Haiti's problems lies with their own people. How come all of those millionaires aren't helping to stabilize their own nation?
Teniel 06-16-08, - 05:21 PM For an island as small as New Providence, mass rioting could cripple us in short order. I hope that the authorities that be are dealing with this situation diligently. Nassau Village sounds like it needs to get flushed out. There is something dangerous brewing in that community, and something better be done quickly. If an immigrant commits a crime in this country, doesn't the state have the right to revoke whatever status they have and send them shipping? Why are people who obviously do not want to assimilate into Bahamians society with decency and civility still allowed to be here. Who in immigration is being payed off, and compromising our sovereignty and safety as a nation?
