Casual observer you sound like a whore "in the terms of wanting to be the good little boy"...it only gets you a kick in the seat of your pants when you suck up....and in turn dont stand for anything!

Listen...for us to be one of the few functioning democratic countries in the western hemisphere..not even to say black rule is remarkable!!!

To have a dollar that is one on one with the U.S. is again remarkable!!

To listen to you, is to listen to a lazy *****rd of a man...who wants to be a good little boy and eat the scraps off of a table that is allready his!

Live ya life for standards...in this country we have standards, and democratic principles (for the most part)!!!
That my freind is what keeps us able to at least reason effectively with U.S. interests.....dont ever forget that!

The gov't is aligning itself to China as we speak. Wont' that piss of George W! He'll be forced to provide additional support or risk losing the influence to the Chinese, like the US lost influence over Cuba.

I wouldn't say that China would be any friendlier, perhaps the opposite. They have no time for slackers and small country politicians.

I say the devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

China is now exporting chinese here to the Bahamas...Every day, they coming in them containers in Freeport....hmmmm

I agree with Abiskans sentiments. We need to stop viewing America as this country's only great hope and saviour, and start expanding our horizons with other successful and prosperous nations. America will eventually loose its place as this globes only super power, its happening as we speak.

As well we in this country need to grow some back bone, and stop dropping and rolling on every thing the US says concerning this country.

Laughing...
I remember when I was sixteen and confronted my ma just like you said..."trying to grow some back bone"...I said mom, I am man dammit...then whap! right cross the face, it was then I realize that I was a mere boy...
Teniel it is good to have a vertebrae, but then there are times when its good just to be boneless.

Yep we need to kiss canadas butt a little more than we already do ..

seriously though ... canada produces some great products also, probably not even known by alot of canadians, but sold to the US and Europe .. and i use them myself, over asian & US products. 2 names particularly - Extreme CCTV and Videocomm Tech (wireless video transmitters). Extreme has the best tech support Ive ever come across, and some of the best products also.

Ofcourse untill we get a new industry to support us, the US is the only thing keeping this country together as the majority of Tourists here are from the US ..

Man Rory, you know Canada and the U.S is one country...Its just that they don't know it yet!

I dont want the Bahamas to lay down for anybody!
U.S. or anyone.....

We may be small...but pride is all we have!!!
We may not have an army...but God is with us!!!
We may not have all of the resources the U.S. has...but we have more brains!!

Let us work this relationship out to our advantage all the time...and that means laying low when we have to and playing hard when we have to...i am not givin no yankee or no chinee man nuthin easy!!!
 :taped:
man the bahamas has been laying down since they killed of all the arawaks, where have you been, we are small yes, pride goes before the fall, and army no, god help us there, resources we have more than you know brains, sure but can they think thats always been my question?

back in the 80's while i was at cob the concept of bahaiminization had come about advanced by the plp. i rember we had some mad times back then debating the pros and cons of the issue, as for a true bahaiman i dont know what you are getting at, i was born in the bahamas that makes me as bahamian as any one else, unless you know some thing i dont know if you do then share it. as for my sexual orientation thats private...........
