This whole phrase 'think beyond / outside the box' thing is a copout anyway. It's a vehicle the uninspired use to try and motivate others to be as uninspired as them. It came from the cubicle-world of NYC, LA and Dilbert comics and has since been taken to heart by those that want to sound new, but don't have anything new to say.

If you need unconventional thinking, then ask for unconventional thinking. If you need to address something from a different perspective, then do so. But the use of metaphores like these just drive me nuts.
Lol! You must take a drink every time you see the words equality & discrimination then.

The words equality and discrimination are definable words, rather than the esoteric 'box thinking' phrase. Granted they are both used incorrectly at times, probably more often than not.

I'm not afraid of drinking a few anyway! Cheers. :friday: I'm the one on the right...

Please excuse me for insulting you - I had no idea that you were held a Professor Emeritus Doctorate of O level CHESS. Now you have some credibility!

This is the first time you have said you are not proficient in the use of the English language. Before it was for ephasis or to launch 'mental jabs'. If you can't use the language to your advantage, try using words and phrases you really know the meaning of.

Where can I order your book on tape?

:dgi: What? I must be in hell...

Citing the little Mexican puppy dog! Where can I find your theroies on 'dropping the chalupa'?

Ah, yes the tie-dyed army of the Grateful Dead marching on the battlefields of Woodstock, drugging and screwing each other for 3 days to make the world a better place. Ever see the field of garbage they left behind for the town to clean up? How about those that spike trees with large iron nails so it kills the guy using the chainsaw when he cuts it down? I've lived that life for a number of years - peace, love and harmony comes down to finding the guy with the best LSD or weed, foregoing showers in favour of patchuli incense, and spending nights under the stars using the spoken word medium to solve all of the worlds problems without really understanding them.

Good for you. What tangible differences have you accomplished.

How dare you speak of a God complex. Do you actually know what that is? I don't mean your interpretation of someone elses interpretation, but the widely accepted definition. I have made no judgements whether you (or anyone else) lives or dies. I hold no real power over others and thus cannot control them. I am not judge, jury, and executioner.

What is mental masturbation? Rubbing your temples until you sneeze and thereafter get sleepy? I don't think I've ever read a sentence that included both the words "masturbation" and "God". You really are a pioneer!

Now you are just being rude and I don't appreciate it.

it amazing what a god complex you have, you still dont get it everthing that i wrote to you is in all my post, not only do you have a god complex but in the hippie movement, as you dont know what it is, you are suffereing from tianny of grammar. just chill out dude dont get your self so fixated on syntax, in all your well structured thought, you have shown me nothing new. do you realize that, at this moment i am wasting time replying to you because i am yet to figer out where you are going i post questions for you did you not answer them.

It's all pops and whistles from here, pal. You make antagonistic remarks and then expect people not to confront you? Once confronted you play victim. I don't have time for this bull. I wasted my time responding to something you didn't even read

I'd rather you take your meds and leave well enough alone. I hope you and Clint are happy together. :wipe:

casualobserver: look you opened pandoras box, and there is no way to close it now. you should have thought about this before you responded, from your pillar of intellectual mastery? or so it would seem, but there are many issues that you have brought up that will be resolved, one is the god complex.
thank you. for if you did not begin this rant i would have never reached this point, nor would i be able to go deeper into the characteristics of the boxs, its method of operation. you thought it was just a slogan, man are you in for it.

With all respect to your professor - ultimately, the one purpose of education is to teach a person how to think!

I know lots of folks with all kinds of letters after their names. They are brilliant in their fields but they know nothing else, nothing else. They learned how to do, but not how to think!

Exactly what I have known for a long time!

Puts me in mind of something Somerset Maugham said concerning great men of affairs who were completely lacking in common sense regarding anything other than their profession!

Great Demos: One of the things we do in teaching chess to novices, is we engage in a series of exercises to train their minds to see what is in front of them, you would be amaze what people dont see. However the more they practice the more their sight improves. Our program is called life skills through chess skills. On the tangable level it takes a beginner from that point to master if they so desire. Now this lack of sight i find in the various areas of a peoples activity that is, economics, education, entertainment, labour, law, politicts, religion, sex, and war. ( i have taken these from the book, The United Independent Compensatory Code/System/Concept by Neely Fuller, jr). what you have missed is that i have defined education as i have learnt it to be in its most simplest form as: to make a student a responsible handler of power.( from John H Clarke) Power is in its simplest form and in this context, defined as the ability to define reality and have others respond to you from that definition. ( see Francess Cress Welsing/ The Isis Papers). These are some of the terms/premise introduce to the discussion.
Now that i have put forward some of the underlying premise in my post where does this comment of common sense fit in? What is the idea that you are transmitting? Please explain the nature of your statements?
