Ah, ok. I understand.
I think MPs should make use of the internet as well. Constituents should know what is going on, as you've mentioned. I'm not really big on the (printed) newsletter thing. Maybe in small numbers for those who sign up for it. I just think the leaders of The Bahamas need to consider the environment more. There are some people like you and I who care to know what is going on, but there are probably far more people who may glance at the front page of a printed newspaper before throwing it in the trash, or worse, on the ground. Website can be quite expensive, and confusing for the not-so-internet-savvy. I think both the FNM and PLP websites should have pages for the constituencies they represent... better yet, the Bahamas Government website... so that everyone can go to one main website and view the news and what's going on in each constituency. There are lots of way to keep the people informed and involved. They just need to find cost-effective and environmentally sustainable methods.
The Killarney website IS nice... and INCLUSIVE. There seems to be something there for everyone. It's a great example to follow, although the colours are quite dry. I AM impressed that the colours are not political party colours. It shows that the MP and his crew recognizes that the people living in Killarney may be of any political persuasion. Whatever it is, it doesn't matter because they all have to live together, so to speak.

Nice that it exists, but the HTML is horrid. Check the Source and you will see. They really need to clean that part up. :(

Websites can be expensive....but a basic informational website like the Killarney news can't be that expensive and there are plenty of Bahamians qualified to build and maintain one....all these MP's could easily raise the money for a website....
Besides...I'm sure they could find Bahamian web site companies that would host and maintain them for a discount....
Also, if not a separate website, each MP could at least keep their page on their party's site updated....and could work with that party to make it as informative as Killarney's site.

I love the idea of a constituency website, an updated one too not just one that has one "news update" that lasts for 6 months.
