At least 15,000 Bahamian high school students are involved in illegal gangs, according to a gang expert, who says many of them are flocking to the notorious Haitian Mafia outfit known as the Zoe Pound gang. Police say the gang is having a growing influence on criminality in The Bahamas.

A senior police official has now confirmed that authorities have identified the leaders and members of Zoe Pound - one of the most violent gangs coming out of Haiti, which is partly responsible for trafficking narcotics and caches of weapons into The Bahamas...."....

And, how do you suppose the PoPo are going to deal with this. Round them all up and give them a deserted island to live to remove them from our society.

But many would continue to argue the negative influence of illegal immigration in The Bahamas. Bahamians knows, how Bahamians goes...

I especially find it interesting how they say that the group is not organized. If that is the information which they basing their operations on, they had better think again and do some more investigating.

This is "old news" as well. Such is the nature of the shift in power in the local drug/weapons dealing world after we shipped all of our Bahamian dealers to the US.

With no underground firepower to protect our territory (and a largely impotent defense force), of course militia-minded peeps from the south were happy to take over.

Ninety and the rest of the crew who presently are locked up in the states, believe it or not, served a purpose.

People, guns, and drugs - such a wonderful smuggling combination - and yet the word is that "they aren't organized"? Oh really?

I dare not say what will happen when these dreads really start actin like "dey head buck", but I hope that Ingraham dem have a plan, as well as the US embassy's number on speed dial. They will find it difficult to contact the embassy peeps for assistance once they start heading to the airport to get out of here.

AK47's cut through bulletproof vests like butter and grenades....well, need I say more?

Mind you, we have a tough crew making up the ranks of our top crime units, but some of those gang dreads are friggin' crazy. They don't care 'bout anything because they came from nothing. People who have nothing to lose are dangerous adversaries...

I know the zoepound gang is large; but I think this estimated number is flawed...you go ask homeboy how he came up with this figure, he ga say, I guess.

there is no real statistics in the Bahamas...sad...and these guesstimation does do more harm than good.

I remember years ago, we had a discussion on BI on whether the Zoepound gang actually exists in the Bahamas. I see that we all now can say that it does...A number of disenfranchised haitian Bahamians are creating their own Zoepound gangs in their own neighbourhoods. All embracing the American based name. Apparently its a sign of pride in their neighbourhoods. Living that hip hop gangsta life of ride or die.

The thing that really gets me is that they are helping to destroy our nation after there parents and other already wrecched what resources they had back in Haiti. It's like they are bring there uncivilty here. I am friggin fed up today because there ain't nuthing good to report about the state of the Bahamas today.

15,000 and da police say they are not organized, SMT.What more evidence do the police need to see that these gangs are destroying our society. The powers that be seem to be having a siesta and will only react if something happens to someone in their immediate family.
