Fight for exactly, what? Canewry? I think we need to get a cause first, and then fight for it. So, what are you wanting to fight for, that you would want me to join you, for fear of economic reprisal and victimization?

Don't forget, you can and will be ostrasized and victimized when you "step up"....especially if your'e making sense.

Q. Are we collectively saying that we will not fight for our country no matter what, or are we saying that we will fight; just not for our country?

Why should Bahamians fight for the Bahamas? It doesn't belong to them anyways.

Bahamians do not own the means of production. They do not own their own economy. They do not own hilltop or seashore, and those that do are brigand scum and hardly shining examples of Bahamians earning money without racketeering, influence peddling and corruption.

Successive governments have learned that you throw enough meat scraps at the populace to keep them just barely fed and the people that throw the most scraps, are the most popular.

The persons/peoples that need to be fought are the black crabs. Theoretically we own our destinies yet this is proven not the case.

Nope -- the sheeple will never fight. They are too fat, dumb and happy with the status quo.

I gave an interesting talk the other day about needing more lions in the world.
The lion is not the fastest, smartest, talleat nor strongest animal in the kingdom, but like miles saye when he see's the elephant he does not see girth or strenght he sees food.
Until my ppl see the full potentail of the bahamas we will never be lie the lion. I intend to raise some lions empowering them to take what is rightfully theres not by civil disobediance or otherwise but by the power of the brain and collective thinking.
One lion can lead a thousand sheep to battle . We have examlpe of them all
around us Sir Randol Fawkes, and the list goes on .

A little harsh and unfair if you ask me. There are many hard working, successful Bahamians who have gotten where they are without wrong doing. You may not read or hear about these people, because they ahve no reason, and no desire to be heard about or read about.

This is a little harsh my friend. It could have been said a little more diplomatically, but we get the message.
:)

The only thing that would save us, is if we had a mass conscious shift, in the way we pander to our field masters and the way we do business; under the table, and shrouded in controversy and very non-detailed. There should be no one on this earth, who would or should, be able to tell you to forget your principles and values.....for example, withhold employment from the deserving. Tell a lie to cover someone else's boo-boo. Withhold services. Steal their idea's and victimize the poor and unaware. We claim to be a Christian nation, but the paradox is that we simply do not practice enough civility and decency, within our country and market structure. That's what I saw....

To change all of that, takes government will. That, would never happen, because the powers that be, like it muddy and very ambiguous, so that they can take advantage of the folks who don't know the rules of the game. That's unfortunate. None of our leaders, love us enough, to make things easier for us.

This town, is not as comfortable as it was and in fact, drug 80's aside, we were cruising for collapse because we are forced too, and, begun to like the backdoor, hush hush, muddy type of enviornment to business.

This is why, overwhelmingly, when more foreign firms come here, there would be greater and more market oriented pushing for work and standards, to work.

But, as with you, the Bahamas makes me sick at times, with the level of random victimization, brought on by the shady way we love to conduct every day business.

African Americans cry the same thing...now they just dance and sing to make their money...trying hard not to contribute to the system...sad...

that's the point right there...
there needs to be a revolution...
Perhaps Bahamians in general needs to adopt the Long Island attitude..
If you come across someone you suspect as being illegal immigrant...arrest the bugga and take him to the police station...
Perhaps its time to take these matters in our own hands...

fight, fight, fight...

I’ve read the threads, but I am not so sure so I shall ask a question. We all know that Bahamians love to fight; we do it every day with one another.
Q. Are we collectively saying that we will not fight for our country no matter what, or are we saying that we will fight; just not for our country?

Buddy, I ain gettin violent and dyin for this country, (I is a peacemaker, not a freedom fighter) thas what we have the application for judicial review for and the constitutional motion. I ain crazy, I gat plenty education and I use that. I will row and vex a public official that abuses their power if I have to. But if I need to I will take my grievance to the courts. It's their job to decide 'who's right in this song, it's the man or the woman wrong'.
