Only ten?
I had no idea this was happening with our males!
Gal, where you dis be! I since the murders, I been hearing stories about people I didn't even think was into 'that scene' sucking c*ck for change and things. And they been in it for a while. All I could is pray.
Vicky, I couldn't quote all of that, but that was really deep and profound. Social services and society in general are really dropping the ball, when it comes to counselling the youth of this nation. How can we get people to understand that by rejecting these youths, that we are only pushing into in life of drugs, sex and crime and not away from it?
sapadilly 06-19-08, - 12:08 PM This has been going on for years in this country .... I think back in the day the older guys were the one hitting on the young guys .... If I am not mistaken I think they call them Pay Masters .... But now time has change young men are hitting on the older guys .... In some cases for a $5 phone card .... Today this is why they call them Trades.

in this day and time no matter where you go there is crime and most crime happens during those hours and under those ondition a secluded area so why be out that late in a strange country.

That's the breed with self-esteem problems, not the 'tricking to survive' set.
I even find it hard to believe that "trades" going for as low as $5. Phone card is go too fast for that.
(The act must last longer than the minutes on the card! :taped2:)

only 10 :cutie:? i remember stories of this waaaaaay back when, in the 1970s!
adidasboi987 06-19-08, - 12:56 PM the long wharf kids don't walk the "beat" anymore... the roam internet sites to make their "sales"... some even hang around bars and clubs....sad as it may be it is a startling reality... and Vicky hit the nail on the head with her post as to the antecedents that lead to this behaviour...
Vicky 06-19-08, - 01:06 PM You really broke that down Miss Thing. And, so many people just see the prostitution in this, without really examining what has driven these young men and women to this. In some cases, of course they are those who are simply using prostitution as a way to furnish their wardrobes. But, for others this is a means of survival in a society that has really shunned them and left them behind. When your tired of being bullied and called a faggot at school, your parents want nothing to do with you, and their is little support out there to be found sometimes hustling seems to be the only answer...
Now why would anyone choose to be gay, especially in the Bahamas or anywhere else for that matter, and make life all the more difficult for themselves? I know I sure as hell didn't...
So when did you choose not to be gay?? Were you gay before and chose not to be gay anymore??

RAB wanted to get involed in assisting youth but we were advised not to unless we had writen parental consent so with that our hands were tied.
Now maybe some of you will grasp why I do what I do. Do you people know how much easer my life would be if I did not care and I stayed in stealth. Believe me when I say this is not about me.

where would your self esteem would be if you were shuned for being yourself. I knew this first hand.
I know a few trans and women that were/are sex workers not only here. It hurts me bad inside when I find out they doing it just to eat.
If I had the money the only homeless would be because they choose to be.

Sap not trying to be shady I just can't stand when people think that being GLBT or even intersexed is a choice..
