I so shame to start an entire new thread...
But you know how we BDM dem does go...
We have to spread the message, and quick...
Still trying to enlighten the masses.

It has been revealed that the proposed green space down town will be temporary, and in fact the Straw Market will be built, just in time for the next general elections.

These buggas playing with our emotions...

How important is Down Town Nassau. Should we just abandon it and migrate to Wulff Road or Palm Dale. Bahamian Businesses which were once located Down Town have already done so. They have already given up on the Dump of a Down Town that tourist flock to see.

The Down Town initiative is on pause. Bay Street is on pause, in fact, it is on rewind; turning back primitive. Now the once historical Straw Market, Down Town's centre piece: Its main attraction is being used as a political tool...Why do these guys treat us so...Why they vex at us man...what we do?

I think Green Space is what Bay Street needs. A park with a pavilion for entertainment. Picnic benches for lunches. Trees to sit under and flowers to brighten up an otherwise dismal area.

As for the Straw Market, that stopped selling straw goods a long time ago. I personally think they should do away with the knock offs and insist that authentically Bahamian crafts and art be sold there. We need to stop catering to the food stamp American tourist and start to target a more upscale market. Leave it where it is, get rid of the tent, build an attractive structure, regulate who can be a vendor and promote that and the Welcome Center for authentically Bahamian souvenirs.

I second that. If it ain Bahamian made it can't come inside. Don't call it "the Straw Market", call it "Bahamain Craft Market".
