these damn taxi drivers are getting on my nerve

i am a caucasian bahamian male and i have to walk along bay street to go pick up my girlfriend up from work everyday and walk her back to the car but apparently these cab drivers always ask me if i need a taxi


its gettin g on my last f u ck ing nerve cuz their mentality is that if u are white your a tourist and this is not a good thing
i had to curse the f u c k outta one *** hole because of this and i am tired of this

Works in reverse too. When I try to hail a cab on Bay Street, they drive right by me and try to hustle the people ahead of me who are tourists.

dey is treat tourist bad too, seen them cussing out some spring breakers one night cause all of them wanted to go in 1 single cab, the next cab driver gone up to them stick he head in the taxi and was cussin them all out.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET A TAXI IS TO ACTUALLY CALL TAXI UNION SO THAT THEY CAN RADIO ONE TO YOUR PLACE, EVEN IF IT IS BAY STREET WHERE THEY ARE PARKED. AT LEAST YOU KEEP SAFE BY SAVING YOUR DIGNITY AND PREVENT PUBLIC EMBARRASMENT.

I have no problems catching cabs in nassau, i guese they see isalnd suckers from miles away.

I will never forget my trip to Freeport International Airport a while back. I caught a taxi to the airport, picked up something at the international section and tried to leave.

There was a long line of taxi's there, I told one of them I needed a cab in Town, he told me he was on the line and he was not moving.
I ask about five or six of them and they would not budge.

Finally one came up to me, gave me a quarter and told me to call Freeport taxi, I was shocked, I could not believe it.

In the end I had to call a cab who came and got me. I will never forget that as long as I live.

If you look local, forget it they can't help you.

Well they are begging locals as they come out of the door now, becasue tourist are far and few comming out of the airport. Serves them right, some of them nasty, stink arses! Thye used to fight in front of the tourist becasue the tourist didnt even wanted them, and secured tour cars/busses, or flat out rented cars rather than deal with them.

Most of the taxi drivers in the industry does not have a good head.

Remember who you are dealing with,Cabbies,whether here there or anywhere! I'm sure you have used cabs in the States,in Florida the drivers are almost all Haitian,on their cell phone speaking Creole the whole ride and ignoring any questions you may have and will sit and watch you load and unload your luggage,with their hand out for a tip! In New York City most of them are Indians or Pakistanis,never stop talking "even though you can't understand but a few words" and the whole cab smells of sweat and curry. They are just Cabbies and happy not to have to drive a garbage truck.
