As the sixth anniversary of his son's murder draws near, Leslie Miller yesterday called on government to seek justice for the boy he called "my only heir.'

What a sad commentary on BOTH governments.

Ya know, he who feels it knows it. Mario's death really dropped the scales from the eyes of many. Its effects are deep for the Miller family.

I feel their pain.

I should sympathize, but I dont. He had the reins of power, if he wanted to do something about his son's death he could've. He didnt. There are many, many, many, many other families out there that want to do something about their child's death, but cant and will never be in the position to do something about it because the police caused it or they wont ever be a cabinet minister. So I absolutely do not sympathize with that man.

I am definitely not Christian, let me say that right now. But when I opening express raw HATE for another human being, I ask God for forgiveness. There but for the grace of God go I, is what I say to myself.

Miller has on some occaisons distanced himself from his party and was admonished a few times in the HOA while on his feet, appealing for the "SWIFT JUSTICE" that was promised to Bahamians by his government.

According to the Tribune today, 5 persons were initially apprehended and charged. One had the charges reduced to a crime not even involing the murder and subsequently he was released under quite unusual circumstances. Two other suspects were subsequently also relived of the murder charges. One other suspect was eventually given bail on the murder charge. This was attributed to the fact that the lenght of incareration before the case being heard was cruel. The last suspect was given bail for the same reason but was unable to meet the requirements and is still in jail.

There was a trial which ended abruptly because of what was called at the time 'witness tampering.'

Mr Miller, like any other parent is asking for justice. He has the right.

If a man who was a cabinent minister for five years couldn't get anything done in court....what hope does the average Bahamian have.....

Alright alright alright, yall wore me down. I regret some of what I said. I realise that the man lost his son, so I'll say this, he deserves the full measure of justice just like everyone else. But he doesnt get more sympathy from me than would the poor Joe Blow on the street that lost his child. Because he's poor, the rich man's wealth is his strong city, but the destruction of the poor is his poverty.

Justice ha! Mario Miller was whacked when he decided to get into the drug business. After embezzling some cocaine from the Pedro Smith gang, he was punished gang style -- with extreme prejudice. Ya play wid fire -- ya get burned.

lurker, the details you state may in fact be the case, but where is the justice system in punishing and apprehending.

That is the issue, mr. Miller asks, like many other Bahamian parents for justice to be applied, not in direct proportion to whom we think is worthy of it, but rather as the result of breaking the law.

Yes Mario may have been wrong and now is dead and cant defend any of the charges or stand trial, but that doesnt mean that his murderers should go free.
