yeah, I have been watching the program for the last 15 minutes, and the girls are attractive, but just that. Nevertheless, I will show them my support.
But what amazes me is that when I walk down town or in the Marina Village, I see really pretty Bahamians girls all the time. I wonder where they at. How come they dont compete in Ms. Bahamas.

That Jimmy James song is about the fashion world and in that universe who is allowed and who isn't is a reality. As for beauty pageants...they are just that. The pageants are a message in and of themselves if you want to get technical...

Miss Bahamas (World and Universe) is a joke. Everybody knows that. They only attract dumb/ugly girls, and pretty/smart girls don't would to be associated with that. The prizes are lame and besides competing at Miss Universe, there's no exposure. At least Michelle is trying to run a serious pagent this year. They're working with pretty girls beforehand, trying to bring them up to the level, but pretty girls who already have exposure and poise, usually already have bright futures ahead. Thus, they don't bother with the pageant.
