This warning goes out to all ladies travelling alone in their cars (or even if another person is in the car with you) and to all of you gentlemen who should warn the ladies that they know.

Some of you may have already heard, but at 8 p.m. on Friday night (February 28) a woman was abducted at gunpoint from Wendy's drive-through, Mackey Street. She was tied up and taken in her car by two men to a remote area off Cowpen Road, where one of the men wanted to kill her. The other man argued that they only wanted her car, not to kill her, and she was spared. They took her car and left her there unharmed. She got herself loose, made her way to the highway and then to a house, where the kind occupants took care of her and called the police.

She usually keeps her car doors locked. That night she didn't.
