i know exactly who this is..and to be honest wasnt talking to you!
:bored:
second, someone asked me about micheal moore..and i responded with what i know...and the truth behind his farenheit 9-11...if there is such a thing!

now i dont know what in the above post constituted me whining, but i know i gave tiaesq enough for her to research on...

to be honest this sniping from people who you are not even talking to and who are way far off base than you are is abit old.... :sarcastic
cant you keep your rude remarks to the people who like em...and when you want to talk issues, then if you want talk to me?
:taped2:

Actually NO, Ive accepted Mr. Moore and his enlightenment as fact. No morer researching needed. We have more pressing issues in The Bahamas than to be concerned with the Fahrenheit 11 charade. Trust me therea are enogh die hard Americans out there to research anything. Ill choose which battles I need tof fight and clearly this is not one of um.

First off, let me start by saying that calling the Bahamas a 'Christian Nation' is an absolute lie and is misleading. We are not a 'Christian Nation', but instead a 'Religious Nation'. Christianity is but one facet of our Religious life. Now that thats said, I think all the hullabaloo about The Da Vinci Code from the Vatican is really an unnecessary thing and is probably a publicity stunt to draw interest back to the church. Consider this, Dan Brown didn't just write the book yesterday, so why are they now coming out about it? Or try this, Dan Brown wrote another book called "Angels and Demons" that, if you asked me, was a bit more deserving of Vatican interest but still no word on that. The simple truth is that the Catholic Church has been losing members and money for decades and now the Pope John Paul on his way out, there is a need to revitalize interest in the body. There's nothing wrong with that, all churches recruit members, thats how the bills get paid. In fact, in the Bahamas, getting paid seems like its the primary reason to open a church. All that other salvation stuff is secondary to having a pastor who drives a Lincoln and lives in a big house...anyway, back to "The Code". I think the Vatican ought to just let it go. The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction and if the faith of Catholics and all "Christians" remain strong, they'll recognize that fact and enjoy one heck of a good read.

and by the way..we even een on bahamian tings anyways..we talkin about a book that "is supposed" to reach all christians!

i hold this book in just as much light as i did the "satanic verses" a fiction with a few truths in it, merely placed deceivingly so to confuse an all ready weak and confused audience, by salyman rushdie by the way, who was placed on a hit list by the ayatollah khomieni of iran....and just as much salt as the jews took with the bible...put hits out on jesus and every early philosopher who opened his mouth with a different oppinon...
but i have yet to see, in this instance, under the same circumstance, anyone place anyone under crucifixion or on a "hit" list....
lol....i beleive in what works for me works for me....

just read the dang book if ya want...and whatever floats your boat..and if one book can unsettle you so easily, then you really need to look into a next religion..or none at all..not saying that is bad, but do whatis good for you spiritualy!!!

I think that folks get to caught up on labels sometimes. The Bahamas is labelled as a Christian nation in our constitution because most Bahamians align themselves with the religion of Christianity, as supposed to Islam, Budhism, Catholicism, or Judaism for example. It does not mean or have to mean that the majority of Bahamian persons are 'true christians'. "Religous" is too broad of a term to use, particularly in describing population demographics and culture of a particular nation.

A top Catholic cardinal has blasted "The Da Vinci Code" as a "gross and absurd" distortion of history and said Catholic bookstores should take the bestseller off their shelves because it is full of "cheap lies." Do you think by tryin to suppress tis book they will only make it more popular?

Richard Campbell.

So why would you want to state an opinion on something you know absolutely nothing about, even if.

That is what's wrong with our people right now everyone want to be spoonfed information. If you teach a man how to fish, he will fish for a lifetime.

with that said: Google DaVinci Code and you should come up with an acceptable summary of what it entails.

Uh sorry Christian Nation is not in the constatution. Its not even in the preamble.

What is in the preamble is "Christian values".

The Da Vinci code is a story about the code that Leonardo Da Vinci discovered in the Bible. Bible codes are still being studied.

not fair,Tiaesq, he may already have a preconceived opinion, and just wanted to confirm that everyone is talking about the same thing. We are our brother's keeper.

Okay so it is not Christian nation, but Christian values, not a very far discrepancy in my opinion.

Or - read it. There's even a version with illustrations to show Da Vinci's art references.

Personally, I thought it was good until the end. A little anti-climatic, if you ask me. It created the same brouhaha that Salman Rushdie's "Satanic Versus" and James Redfield's "Celesine Prophecy" did a few years ago. Now, "The Purpose Driven Life" is all the rage because of that woman who hung out with the Atlanta killer for 8 hours last week. Seemed the book saved her life ...
