Alien 03-24-05, - 09:27 AM and how...and how my friend :hammer:
specially tings like religious text's and stuff...people tend to embelish!!!
:)
but still dont take things like that lightly either, we just have to learn from the mistakes that whatever any text provides us with....we dont have to live it out exactly!
pharoah 03-25-05, - 03:50 PM What’s the big deal? Isn’t the book listed as a fiction? why is the Roman catholic church so sensitive? Maybe there are some truth to the book, for example the crusades and the inquisition, where many believers were slaughtered just because they never acknowledged the supremacy of the pope!

its the old platonic veiw of literature being an inferior form of reality and it being untrue to the Gods...
catholicism borrows ideas from plato and applies it to lierary crtique...
this book like the satanic verses has some truth..which is more harmful than no truth at all...
it mingles truth like the reality of a self portriat, with the fiction of background in that portrait..not neccesarily of the background when the portrait was painted in...
which blatantly leads to just confusion brought on by authors and poets whose sould reason is for confusion and the tittilation of our desires...
which eent all that good when you look at what motivates us...

YK2, Just curious. Have you actually read the (whole) book.
I think its the best book since the Celestine Prophecy. I don't understand why people are arguing the truthfulness of a FICTION book. But the catholics are experts at fabricating and altering books: look what the did to the bible. Look what kind of influence there fabrications have had.
Rizzo 03-26-05, - 02:40 AM I actually liked the book myself though most of the material is from previously published material....I think they're doing a movie about it too.
Link....if you could be so kind, please point out what alterations you speak of, that the Catholic Church has made to the bible. :bouncy:

i wanted to read the whole thing front to back, but i dont think anyone does that anymore...the last man i knew did that is my grandad and he is dead!
and like i said..i dont get why people are arguing over a book..especcialy protestants, but catholics have this thing with reading and literature being untruthful and stuff...and if you look, only the catholics are pissed with this book!!
:D
now hold on now...dont go bashing anyone here....
i didnt bash the book, just called it a good work of half truth...

For those of you that have cable - tonight (26th March) on channel 50 from 8pm to 11pm there are programs about this subject.
k.o.o.l.b.o.n.z.e 03-27-05, - 02:08 AM lol..CG talk about foreshadowing. as i'm watching this i'm about to come into this thread and mention but you beat me to it by hours. honestly i've been reading about the merovingians and the knights templar ever since the second matrix (that drips of so much relgious influence that it isnt funny) sounds like i really need to read the davinci code, and holy blood, holy grail (the book the davinci code has borrowed from)

You can say what ever you like Rizzo.
Constantine started/organized the Christianity that is practiced to this day.
He is also responsible for the Christian Bible we read to this day.
Oh and he was a Pagan (FYI) Can we guess why all Christian holidays are on Pagan holidays.
Just have a look at Easter. HHHHmm Easter bunnies??? Easter eggs?????
Alien 03-28-05, - 11:53 PM what the heck does that have to do with anything he being once pagan...

Christianity is Pagan based. WHY???????? Because that is how Constantine set it up to be.

RockWell 03-30-05, - 11:43 PM Hmmmmmmmmmmm Wonder's why you only see Vick in threads where HE is only bashing either Christians or Hetrosexual people but never in the threads concerning the upliftment of this country.
