Hmmmmmmmmmmm Wonder's why you only see Vick in threads where HE is only bashing either Christians or Hetrosexual people but never in the threads concerning the upliftment of this country.

Ok so how is pointing out Christian history Christian bashing???

It would be nice Vicky for you to post an answer to a thread, without having to 'attack' Christians or Christianity 98% of the time. Its like someone attacking transgendered persons like yourself every time they post, regardless of the fact that transgendered folks have absolutely nothing to do with the topic that may be at hand. It simply turns the thread into another heated religous debate about Christianity. Its nice to be able to stick to a topic sometimes around here. And for many individuals you simply come off has having a huge chip on your shoulder against Christians, or some deep pent up resentment against them. Of coures you are entitled to your opinion, but it would be nice if you would not constantly make reference to Christians. It is as though they are the root cause of all of the world's problems, when in fact we (Christians and non-Christians) contribute to the problems. Whats better though is that we can solve it together, and that would be nice to see for a change around here, instead of constantly pointing fingers. My two cents.

Please read post 52 and 53 please explain how starting at the begining of the Christanity is bashing. I simply gave a begining point to Rizzo question.

Or is it Christians don't like being reminded where their faith came from.
Do Christains think a building is better than the foundation???

Rizzo

Christians think that the foundation is Jesus, plain and simple.

No matter what renovations may have been done to the building, his foundation stays the same and can never be replaced or destroyed. Is Jesus your foundation?

You claim the same thing saying that you follow "Jesus the man that walked the earth", but chastise others because some may object to your opinions/lifestyle.
Jesus despised sin, but loved everyone. There is no list detailing what sin is, so each person is left to decide on his own what is a sin, based on the teachings left to us. If you think something is a sin, you will speak out against it, so will everyone else. Everyone has an opinion, just as well as we have a voice to explain and support our opinions. This is what needs to be done. We all need to explain ourselves and our opinions as we may offer some insight into how we all should live.

(OUr expressions of our opinions helps others to examine themselves, but that is as far as we should go, we should not force our opinions on anyone, but still we must follow law. In most countries majority rule is used in governing. So if our opinions are not being adhered to as we like it...your task is to gain the support of the majority.)

Once again, what does your assertion that Constantine "created" Christianity prove?
I asked you in another forum what do you say to Christians who support the Alliance...but I haven't gotten a response yet...I'm waiting to see your response in that forum.

I'll ask you this, where did you first learn of Jesus? and why did you choose to follow his teachings?

I'm interested in your responses.

Christians think that the foundation is Jesus, plain and simple.
Jesus is the first block in the foundation of Christianity. The Creator is the foundation of all. However history shows us that Christianity was a fragmented religion with many different variations of the life of Jesus and his teachings. It was more like a cult until Constantine and the Nicene Council, which he assembled, created Christianity. It was there and then that Constantine directed the formation of Christianity and the Bible we read today. All other forms of Christianity were outlawed, to the point of executing (murdering) all the Christians that did not conform to the new religion. The beginning of the murderous intolerant Christianity we have to this day. Constantine’s religion is now known as Catholicism.

I'll ask you this, where did you first learn of Jesus? As child in Sunday school at the Lutheran church when they used to meet at the Shirley St. theater on Sunday morning. and why did you choose to follow his teachings? Because what I have seen of other religions they are to full of pomp, pageantry and ritual. You have to do this or you have to do that. Christ taught we don't have to do anything but be our selves Love the Creator and love one another. Fancy clothes fancy hates fancy rituals long winded prayers and stand and sit stand and sit not to mention kneel up down up down make you no closer to the Creator than just simple thought.
I can sit right here and say thank you Creator and you know what? I can take comfort in knowing the Creator knew my thoughts before the first star was created but I have yet to discover them.

"Murderous, Intolerant Christianity"....sounds like slander to me....

Constantine’s religion is now known as Catholicism.

Hmmm....okay...

Jesus did teach a way that we are to live. But most of those I see calling them selves Christian don't live it.

Judgemental aren't we?

They live with hate and intolerance. They want others who don't conform to their way of life/religion/faith to be treated as a lesser form of human.

Sweeping generalization, do you look at all black people as criminals and drug users too?

Is the majority always right???????

The decision made by the majority is what is right in the minds of the majority of the people...everyone cannot be pleased...hence the reason of voting.

It proves that Christianity is an altered religion. Altered by man.

Christians believe Jesus is the son of God, Christianity requires that we love each other as we love ourselves; yes even gays and lesbians, murderers and thieves, and we are to help each other in any way we can to live righteous lives. Same thing you seem to believe Vicky.....oh yeah that's right...you're a "free-thinking Christian" or did you forget you once said that to me.

Post me a link to this question please so I can respond.

It's in the Lesbian Gangs forum.....you'll see it....last post I think.

Which is true...however you know what I'll do when I see God? I will stand when I sense his presence and kneel before him at his feet...to show my respect and love for what he has done for me. We all have our way of praising and honoring him.....do what you feel you should do....

If you have any other questions please ask

Hi Vicky, I had promised not to respond to any of your postings re Christians, etc, but sometimes when your post is so outstandingly and glaringly wrong, I just can't help responding, try as I may!

Re this thing about Constantine, have you ever read the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew chapters 5 through 7? Some of the world's leading scholars believe that all the philosophy and psychology in the world can't come close to the wisdom and sprituality contained in the Sermon on the Mount!

Now if you can give me some proof or ANY shred of evidence how a Pagan like Constantine could put together a teaching like the Sermon on the Mount, words cannot describe how you would have petrified my brain!

Regarding the sermon on the Mount. Please read this: (and as you read it keep in mind that the Buddha was 500 years before Jesus.) http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items04/240704-1.html

Here is a bit of it.

"His (Jesus) Sermon on the Mount constitutes the essence of his teachings. He lays down his code in the simplest terms. The underlying themes and the codes of conduct correspond to the Maha Mangala Sutra. In this Sutra Buddha adumbrates the blessings that lead to the highest ideals. The similarities between the Maha Mangala Sutra and the Sermon on the Mount are striking and scholars have drawn the parallels. Like Buddha he says: Be righteous, be meek, be pure of heart, be a peacemaker, be merciful, be better men than Pharisees (substitute Brahmins, in the case of Buddha) who follow rituals and make a show of their religion, make peace with your brother, turn the other cheek and don't gouge an eye for an eye, love your neighbour as thyself, forgive the wrongs of others, don't store up treasures on earth for your heart will be with the rotting treasures, no servant can serve two masters, put away anxious thoughts about food, drink and clothing because life is more than food, drink and clothing, enter the path of the straight and narrow are, by an large, the essentials in the Sermon of the Mount."

Sorry that this containes info on Constantine but its history that can't be avoided.
http://gnosticschristians.com/wst_page2.html
In contrast, to the Gnostics, the Orthodox (meaning 'right') believed their Church had the authority and wisdom to declare, even in written decree, what all Christians should believe. If Christians "believed" the same, Constantine said it would bring "harmony" to the church and Empire. Therefore the Bishops and Constantine, who financed the event, met in a village named Nicaea. The Nicene Creed became the official doctrine that was to define "Christianity." The vote was unanimous as Constantine exiled those who dissented! (Read Constantine's Sword.) Constantine ordered "heretics" and "schismatics" to surrender their church's properties to what was beginning to be called the catholic, or universal church (the Orthodox). Even though some have estimated nearly half of Christians were gnostic in their thinking, Orthodox Bishops (all male) and Constantine were able to tell the world exactly the correct interpretation of Christ and His intent. Constantine, a crafty and warring politician, was able to declare "officially" that those who agreed with him and his Bishops were the Christians. And, amazingly, understanding himself as the "vice regent of God", he and the Bishops were able to silence others like the Gnostics who saw the meaning and purpose of Christ differently.

Constantine's Council did help Christianity to be the state religion and one voice. Gaining state and ecclesiastical power, the patriarchal Orthodox Church was able to judge for Christ, for God, who was and wasn't a true Christian by what one "believed." Therefore the war cry against the poorly organized Gnostics, was "HERETICS."

So the Inquasition is slander.
The Burning times is Slander.
The conversion of the Noth South and Caribiean indian to Christanity at the end of the gun and sword is slander I guess.
