just becuase someone would be a proponent for condoms etc in schools. that does not mean that they believe teen agers having sex is right. in fact the majority of people that believe kids should be given condoms or told where to get them etc are totally against underage sex but becuase under age sex is a reality and it does happen everyday wheather we acknoledge it or not, these people believe that making condoms available and teaching safe sex is the best way to address the issue and curb AIDS, STD's, and unwanted pregnancies.

BTW- is there any kind of program in the bahamas where a person can go and get free condoms. kinda like family planning in the USA

Y'all remember that Bahamian show "Teen Spirit"? they need to bring something like that back. Ain't everyone gonna go to a meeting to talk about stuff that makes them uncomfortable, but they can watch a show targeted to them at home and feel comfortable. They could even call in to ask questions. They need that show now!
I was at my mechanic's shop the other day and one guy was there talking about how he sleeps with 13 year old haitian girls, and he has a daughter who's 12.....He didn't even think it was wrong, because they looked mature and already had sex before....To quote him, "They already know bout dat before dey come here".....I mean c'mon....people aren't born with consciences anymore it seems.....
The main problem in the Bahamas today is that people just don't care about anything anymore. And those who do care, can't say much because some people don't like to be corrected and can get violent.



and that same guy is probably a gay basher, or looks down at them. i say that dude is nastier than any gay who at least gets involve with persons their own age. also i must ask what did you do when hearing this, i would have found out that dudes name and age and have the polics look into that matter. unfortunatly too many of this goes on in little nassau.

C'mon Vicky, as bad as this situation is, one requires evidence to carry to the police to initiate an ivestigation,like a tape recording for instance of this alleged guy acknowledging tha the sleeps with 13 year old haitian girls, and even more evidence than that (physical and testimonies). I am not saying that to turn a blind eye to the situation, but you need evidence to initiate some form of justice. And not fair to make reference to Christians in this, its anyone's duty christian or not, to carry evidence of such things if they it have it to the police.



well regardless of weather or not the cops take action. as a good person you are to go to the police and tell them what you know. even if they choose not to do anything you can say that as a human being i did all that i could. also i would have said. "MAN YOU NASTY MAN!!!!!!!" just like that. i would have did or say something to let him know thats nasty

yeah i read it, you said every one just talked to him or whatever. i dont know you and i believe you when you said if the situation was dealing with a 13 yr old boy you would have reacted any differently. but i think there would have been many persons in that yeard who would have got overly grossed out and more heated. and they would remove their minds from the fact that it was a rape against a human being and only focuse on that it was a homosexual act. much like the some of the folks on this thread removed themselves from the fact that we dont want gangs period and the fact that a gang is homosexual is not importnant. we dont want kids recruited into any kind of gang

lol. i know the typical bahamian man is not to be trusted when it comes on to a relationship, but there are a few good ones left. LADIES I AM RIGHT HERE. your post does have some validity and it is sad that it does.

To be honest, I've never dated a Bahamian woman. I noticed that even the girls in church wanted the drug-dealer boyfriends. They wanted to spend their youth going out and partying instead of contributing to their country's future. I'm not bitter because when I went to college I had my fun also. Maybe I held Bahamian women to a higher standard than all others.
