I think that is a first... but some one has to account... and OK my God des Baptist do not know how to account for the church collection... but this is a different story.....
I want to know how much they got...
and how it will be spent....
I need answers...
No such collection should be taken at this kind of service, unless it is stated that the money collected will go to a charity stated in the bulletin or spoken from the pulpit. The church itself should be donating its services (for this kind of worship event) and should not be expected to be reimbursed.
No one can object to helping those in need but it must be stated who those people are.

Blame the organizers!!
If it aint them then they should scould that church for doing such a thing at such an event!!
Freeporter 07-06-08, - 09:19 PM Check out the service that is on right now on ZNS. A lot of squirming going on, he is preaching on capital punishment with a church full of Government people! He is certainly letting them know that the system is causing much of the problems.( Told them about the one out on bail and robbed the Bank)
Good preaching but at the wrong time.
waltarc 07-06-08, - 10:34 PM collection probably gone to that wonderful organization - "the bahamas christian counsel" - uhmm

FACTS ONLY 07-07-08, - 12:00 AM I was just watchin ZNS. The Dwight Armbrister was on osting one gospel show. Maybe its just me, but that O P E N G A T E he gat i front of he mouth does distract me.
At least one or two teeth could fit in there.
When the news comin on?
chancellor 07-07-08, - 01:33 AM A collection at a national service is simple nasty. I did not catch the Nassau one but only half of the Freeport one, and I did not catch any offerning time.
Who warranted a collection plate?!
And I suggest if we are going to have state church services, if we are not going to do it in christ church, half a national cathedral for interdenominational state services.

I am very sadden that we as a nation what not move away from these long drawen out services. Why is it that we have to do this 2 hour service thing here in the Bahamas. I have simular services around the world and they do theirs in an hour. Let us tell our leaders that the time has come for us to cut down on these long drawen out events ans try to keep them to 1 hour.:realmad::hammer:
Karma Leo 07-07-08, - 10:31 AM Taking up collection at a national service is in poor taste and it breaks protocol. But these churches seem to be doing alot of things in poor taste lately so I shouldn't be surprise that they resorted to this.
