Stapledon Gardens. Most of the time it's pretty peaceful but this weekend was ruff. Friday the fireworkson the golf course sent my dog (who resides with my parents a few streets over) into a tizzy and she left little presents all over their house. Then the concert at Burns House last night and the ice cream truck today. I just want a little peace and quiet.
I sympathize! I live on Village road. It is the main “runway” for ambulances, big trucks, and noisy motorcycles. Then there are the fireworks from God knows where. Sometimes it sounds like we are under an artillery assault.

When we moved here, fifty years ago, you could hear a pin drop - day or night! Things change, sometimes not for the better.

We live close to each other.....

That means that we are bothered by the same ice cream trucks!!!

It's a little bus and a giant truck/van (that looks like a house on wheels) which was around here just an hour or 2 ago...

I just got this from Bahamasuncensored.com...

Too Many Sirens
The island of New Providence has become so noisy and adding to the noise is the constant sound of sirens at every time of the day even at night when there is no traffic, ambulances have their sirens on. This time of independence brings special nuisances from sirens. Police are shunting public officials about at record speeds and they need sirens to do so, not that it helps much because the public seems increasingly like the public in the US; you hear sirens so many times you tend to ignore them. Add to that the running of the prisoners up and down to Fox Hill and the noise from unregulated motor bikes by unruly young men without helmets, prancing unpoliced on every road, and you have quite a mess.
