I could not have been so prouder this morning as a Bahamian and yes as a Roman Catholic... when the Rt. Honourable Prime Minister, made it known to the Bahamas... that the new ministers that are now joing his cabinet were catholic.....

Well, Mike Barnett I know well is a faithful and active member of St. Francis and he is well respect....

Vincent, as a Catholic surprised me.. but I understaood that he is active as well...

but then the PMP went to great lenghts to inform that there is also Dr. Minnis and yes, Dion Foulkes....

He then stated that the Deputy to the Governor General, Sir Authur is as well.. Arthur.. please come to church... (there is planty room at St. Francis now)....same for Dion... Then the PM stated that the speech that he was giving was prepared by a catholic....

As Catholics, we are encouraged to participate at all levels in the development of our country... most of all we are encouraged to be upright, faithful and never depart from the values of hardwork, honestly, and just good old compassion and love for god, church and country.....

Congrats to all and may God bless our bleibved Bahamas, yes indeed the BAHAMAS is the capital of the world........

Ok... But what caused him to make such comments? It just seems kind of random and irrelevant on its own. I'm trying to get the context/setting to assist me in understanding where this is coming from.

He also expressed disappointment that Loretta Butler-Turner is the only female in his cabinet..... stuff like that...

I am glad you noticed this! This is just his little cynical way of thinking. What the hell does VVW and Barnett being members of the Catholic organization have to do with anything.
