2 dollars is little money to pay to ride the bus in nassau. Maybe folks could walk part of the distance seeing that Nassau is only 7 X 21 and most of the work places are concentrated in the middle of the island.

What you have to understand is that most people have been feed with a silver spoon so whiles to you and us a $2 bus fare for the same sad service (loud cursing music, speeding with no care of the lives of the people on and off the bus), but to others its okay because they think $2 is nothing. Well to a minimum wage worker $2 is a lot especially if they have to catch 4-6 buses per day.

to think of it $2 is ridiculous. if i catch 2 bus to and from work thats $8. thats more than a gallon gas which could take me to work atleast 3 times. the other day i wanted to see how much gas it would take to fill my car so wen the gas light came on i drove it for another 3 days with the light on. and still i couldve driven some more. if im goin to park my car and catch the bus i must see some savings in it and not only the fact that i dont hav to drive

Good Day,
Bus drivers are now asking the government to charge riders $2.00 to ride the bus. For those who ride the bus would you pay the $2.00 charge.
With gas prices as high as there are no wonder why poeple are buying our fuel pills, but if you know of any other way to put gas prices down please let us know. Or do you think its fair to charge majority of minimum wage workers $2.00 to ride the bus?

LOL so nah we should pay dollars ta wait a min of 45minutes in some areas for a bus...ta take a ride wit some goon wit one schoolgirl on his side who ga drive like he on da expressway ta hell. AND, while we all bouncing round in da bus all over each other like crabs in a pen fa erry turn dey take he tryin ta beat da bus dat pass us 40 minutes ago on da bus stop so full people fallin out da window!

on da real $2 is a lot for the avg user of the public system..esp those taking more than one per day.

I do support PTAB and their 100 day challenge though....its a good idea and I hope it goes well. They seem to have had many plans incl. proper scheduling, better service etc. And having taken a couple rides on their buses and seeing em in action I gotta admit they tryin (though the other bad apples still makin it rough for em)

If we could get all of those jitney drivers to work together so there is a proper system up and running then perhaps it would be justified though.

People just need to see where dey money goin...and dese days tings tuff...so changin da name fa da same garbage ain really changin a ting.

The thread is not about $2 bus fare, it is about Parts Haven trying to push his scam on more people with free advertising. I am not "hating", I am trying to educate people so that they don't get caught up in this scam.

So how duo u suggest the busses make a profit with the price of diesel..? Hey for those of us driving the gas pump is a killer too.. we are now paying twice as much as we used to at the pumps.. When i first bought my car 4 years ago it was about $40 to fill up... News flash it is now $75 for the to fill up.. Gas is high point blank!!!! :cutie:

It aint that ya know Exotic One. Im looking at a person who have to catch 2 bus to work and 2 bus goin home. Plus when dey get off da bus they gatta walk another 5 mins before they get in their house. So that work out to be $8a day and if they do that 5 days per week thats $40 per week. Minimum wage is $150 per week, come on nahh thats almost $50.00 out of their pay check a week just catching the bus. If they raise the bus fare they gatta give better service. Busses run on da clock and on time, bus stops should be within every couple of blocks and from east to west and north to south.

Im paying just as much as you to fill up my vehicle now. I live Cowpen Road and have to go PI 5 days out of the week. I had to cut down on my driving and only go out when I need to. I told my friends as long as the price of gas stay the way it is they will not see me.

When the bus operators can not afford to operate their vehicles anymore because of the escalating fuel prices, then tell me, what will the public use as a mode of tranport? Businesses exist to make a profit foremost. Remember this when you have are left with the choice between walking or buying your own transportation. $2 @ ride wont seem that much then.

Does the level of service reflect a $2 charge? No it doesn't. I dont care how much gas goes up. Those of us that have to rely on the public tranist system deserve more than an excuse that gas has gone up. We deserve a system that is safe, efficient, and caters to every one on this island. I have no problem paying $2 for a bus ride, but I refuse to do so under the present conditions of the system.
