Chinese I can almost see for their development in the technology world Smart Boy U answered your own question,as to Cuba I most believe it is to learn how they survived without bowing to the mighty US of A ,can U say Blankenship.
Cuba survived because they had a powerful friend, Russia, who subsidized them. Cuba cant stand on its own two feet, it never could. With the fall of Communist Russia, Cuba is having a harder and harder time. If the Bahamas wants to learn anything from Cuba it is just that - find a big boy to lean on - China, perhaps?
I have said in before, and I will say it again, if you don't like the way the Americans bully us around wait until the Chinese get a stronger foot hold here. You ain't seen nothing yet!
Alien 03-25-05, - 02:44 PM why cant we deal with nom communists, like taiwan, Korea, or even Japan ..
because for one..the u.s. says we cant, at least with korea "north korea that is" and second why should we get in so deep with them...we have treaties with japan and the republic of korea but i would guess to the extent of only north korea..for obvious reasons!
i mean what is in it for us??
why is it that our gov is into the Chinese and the Cuban Governments .. both communist regimes??
becasue the chinese are not expansionists, and we are treading very lightly with Cuba..i dont think our cuban ties are as strong as you think it is..but there is some relation, becasue cuba is declawed as an interferer in carribean politics, and Cuba really isnt a threat to anyone else besides from the people who are running from Cuba!!
Are they telling us something in this ..? Chinese I can almost see for their development in the technology world but what doe Cuba have to offer, besides cheap prositution for Bahamian men!!!! Oh yeah, and Cigars!! Yeah there are some good wives found there also, but we all know why bahamian males really go there ..and then im sure everyone knows of the cuban ring of Pros here in Nassau now ...???? Just look down bay for the cuban clubs...
Cuba is a caribbean counrty first of all, and second is a major sugar manufacturer...third has the best schools in the western hemisphere when it somes to medicine and sports!
so yes..we need Cuba..the u.s. needs cuba to some extent, is not vital..so the thing is...why mess it up, when things are not smoothe, but at least working for now...Latin america on the whole is not of great importance to the u.s...so let cuba be...its non interference in hemispherical issues...which in this case, the u.s. has stayed true to in regards to not removing castro!
we stilll get sugar..still get to go to schools, and train!
:bouncy:
.......becasue the chinese are not expansionists,
Tell that to Tibet. The only thing hold the Chines back is - 1. They are not ready to make a major move. 2. They fear the Americans. As China gets a bit stronger and the US gets a bit weaker we will see how expansionist they get.
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:09 PM we dont need sugar. and we dont need cuba.
they are caribbean and a part of our hemisphere we have to make an effort to get along first..and second they may need us more that we need them...third that sugar you have in your coffe right now is probably cuban sugar...and the cake you are going to eat in your palacial mansion out east was probably made from the finest cuban canes...we may not need cuba like blood, but what harm can they do in this atmosphere?
none...
sugar kills, and so does cuba.
hahahahahahahahhaa
sounds a bit racial and discriminatory....Cuba is communist...but that is about all that is wrong with it along with castro who the u.s. helped to create by the way!!
and a cuba who is non expansionist and not hostile...at least not now!
and sports schools?? only a ghetto needs that ..
so take away all of the schools out of the u.s. what do you have...a land of barbairians.....cant beleive you said that, muct be the liquor talking to me this morning after a hard night of boozing it up huh..i hope you were sacrcastic!!
:)
medicine. They have no regulations, so they allow anyone from anywhere to come in there and try whatever new thing they want to try. Does not mean it is good, or the best. People still end up going to the US for the best treatment, i know this from people i know, when the crap they tried out in Cuba didnt work, they ended up going to the US and getting it done properly.
last time i checked to u.s. tried everything under the sun...some things you dont even know about....the bahamas too...and we dont have near the infastructure medial wise as Cuba...and where did you hear they let everyone in to try anything??
show me your facts....
the facts are Cuba is leading the western world in research and development..some un-ethical..but some times the line muct be crossed in order to know we are doing wrong..it cant be worng until someone says its wrong..and even then it is only public oppinion@!
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:16 PM Tell that to Tibet. The only thing hold the Chines back is - 1. They are not ready to make a major move. 2. They fear the Americans. As China gets a bit stronger and the US gets a bit weaker we will see how expansionist they get.
well in that case, we will have to wait an see....
to my knowledge the chinese have settled into a capitalist social commune...
expansion is the last thing on their mind in a thriving economy bound to be messed up by taking on too many poor regions...
and not to mention people who you dont even like!!
chinese committment to keep out of regional affairs aka korea and veitnam "to some extent" is proof of ther non preference to take on outside problems!!
chian scared of the u.s....remember tianamen square...remember the u.s. spy plane in which president clinton has to ask back for nicely, only after the chinese govt discected it..and then gave it back on conditions, and a hige supply of medical aid.."pay off"... :dgi:
china scared???
dont think so....
prudent...but not scared...which is a testament to the chinese political culture and seperationist theories of communism!
communism is not expansionist by nature...its ideology is contagious, but militarily not expansionist....they spread by ideas and thought....
what stalin did was not communism but totalitarianism..he was a dictator who hid under the guise of communism..but was really a horrible dictator and leader...
i bet one trillion dollars...karl marx and joseph stalin would not see eye to eye on communism...
even though communism sucks...it still was not of the ideal action of a stalin to mao!!
:fly:
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:19 PM i dont drink cofee, and i stay far far far away from sugar, like i said, sugar kills ..and so does cuba = castro regime.
well, you are naturaly giddy, and sugar in everyday diet is unaviodable...diabetic or not...cuba=castro regime is correct....
but bussiness as usual..the u.s. got over it..so should you!!
and we have drugs here in the bahamas that should not be used .. but we have no active health dept so it doesnt matter.
what does that have to do with anything???
:screw:
actually id go to the UK for medical issues before i went anywhere near cuban waters.
probably becasue you are motivated for other reason aside from good healthcare....second i think no where is good enough for you rory..
you are a utopian idealist to the core..it is why i like you so much!!
:D
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:25 PM its basically free in the UK :)
yea...i wish we had fre health care...
we really need to tax more and spend less on trips to miami for stuff like camera equipment for people who will bring em in duty free through a freind who knows a freind!!
:realmad:
china scared???
dont think so....
prudent...but not scared
Yes, prudent is a better word!
communism is not expansionist by nature...its ideology is contagious, but militarily not expansionist....they spread by ideas and thought....
Again. I say tell that to the thousands of dead Buddhist Priest, kill by Communist China's military.
Yes, everyone sends in their ideas first but if that does not work the guns are next. China has a long history of using the sword to get their ideas across.
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:44 PM yeah those morons!
he he .. actually i pay full duty on everything i bring in, Ive only been to the US once on the past 8 years, i ship it all in, UPS or otherwise. Anyway, back to the cctv group to consult the US companies making more money than me ..arghhh.
Rory
get outa here...we have consultants on cctv here allready??
what are they doing pray tell rory?
i want to hear about the invasion of my mothers privacy!!
:biggie:

Yes, everyone sends in their ideas first but if that does not work the guns are next. China has a long history of using the sword to get their ideas across.
that was before communism though....the border wars and ethnic strife was before communism...anything after communism is hard to find..
aside from stalin, communism has spread like a idea..and not by a gun...
stalin i say again, was not a communist..he was a dictator in communist garb!!
Alien 03-25-05, - 03:49 PM yeah, me. But I mainly consult US companies who are CCTV/Security Integrators and Installers. Its all out of the love for CCTV. This is how I have some major contacts all over the world now, and am using them to bring in good products at lower prices, and sending that discount to the bahamian public.
Rory
so you are a good bahamian, who just happens to be making money, but your love for a good society far outweighs your need for capital!!
just a good honest guy with a love for doing a solid for the bahamian society!!
:cop:
why do we need cctv anyway??
seriously though...what is you reson for being a survievlance guy and making a killing out of it..not sarcastic just curious!!
that was before communism though....the border wars and ethnic strife was before communism...anything after communism is hard to find..
On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was formally established. From 1949 - 1951 Tibet was invaded. The genocide of the Tibetan people continues.

like i said..ethnic and border wars before it went communist!
the indians in guatemala and nicaragua and chile and costa rica have been waring before any of these countries became countries...
in fact they became seperate countries due to their warfare and ethnic differences and forced assimilation by the other..
communism didnt start the invasion, it was the guise in which it masqueraded...
just like democracy invaded haiti, nicaragua, guatemala, panama, and iraq!
with the exception of iraq..all a part of other problems that democracy didnt create, but sure as hell tried to stop!
:lafs:
not saying that communism stopped the problem...but if they were a capitalist democracy..the invasion would be a thing of the past...and they would be in love if the money was flowing sweet and free...
like i said..ethnic and border wars before it went communist!
How can that be before? If the People's Republic of China was formed (officially) in 1949 and they invaded Tibet in 1949 to 1950 (not to mention China's in involvement in the Korean War (1950)) It seems expansion and war was the first thing they did!

just because i country becomes a state, doesnt mnean that ethnic tensions and border clashes over land were not around...
the idea of them becoming a state gave legitimacy in the international world's eyes..didnt make their civil war any less not a border and ethnic problem!
to say that is to say all of the american revolution and indian war was not about expansion...
they were fighting before the u.s. became a state..after the u.s. claimed its legitimacy!!
still dont change the fact they were fighting beofre they start making up names for themselves!!
:D
in this case...your facts are right, but your concept of the history is a tad bit skewed...
which makes it confusing to black and white thinkers....
and is why spin doctors are so dangerous...and why books like the da vinci code can piss people off...hahahahahhaa
:D
