I once watched a pastor of a small church on T.V who was being interviewed say....
"Not because we dont broadcast on a daily basis what we do for the community or how we help others doesnt mean we dont"
He went on to say if we help 10 people today why is it that we have to make sure tell the world as if we are looking for self praise etcDoing good deeds for other is not for praise but make it known to show others how a little help can go a long way. Just imagin how wonderful the Bahamas would be if when someone did a good deed for another it inspired 2 others to do a good deed. I say make your good deeds known not for praies not for pitty but to show others how its done and how much it helps our country.....
The pastor of this small church made plenty sense to me.
He was trying to get across that we all have made a difference in someones life some way or some how but should we continue to seek self praise for it???

Mind-boggling, as our favorite past time is toting news and reaching agreements to destroy other people's way of life (jobs), relationships (marriages) or hopes and dreams (future).
Yep! just a small island-nation that has produced too many pirates, bums, hustlers and queers who would rather tell a lie if it gets us an undeserved Senate appointment, Taxi/Bus-plate, Executive job title above our educational qualification and or Bank loan above our payscale or ability to repay.
Whew! So how you doin'? And where the hell have you been to not know what is true about The Bahamas and her people as we prepare to again celebrate the delayed delivery of The Bahamian Dream in acceptance of our present nightmarish reality.
Don't expect to be congratulated for telling the truth in The Bahamas. No Sir! That time has not yet come. Guess you were raised abroad, eh? Expulsis Piratis has not yet occurred either, as every economic plank since our inception has been built on an illegal base:- Piracy, Slavery, Bootlegging, Drug trafficking and Money Laundering underpinned our apparent national success, while a respectable front always overlaid their ugly reality. You'd have to ask Mr. Patrick Rahming about the missing items of crooked economic pillars, since he wrote a book about the corrupt Bahamas.
Sadly, if you are in a group of PLP's they'll tell you that the unpleasant reality to which I refer is an FNM generated problem. But this is only half true as Wolves' could never so dominate a landscape unless they were confronting Sheep!
So if you have a truth to tell, just shout it out, but don't look for agreement, applause or accolades. Unless ofcourse you too are shopping for one of those opportunities given by the political directorate for the vices mentioned above.
Anyway, My Dear tjohnson, enjoy your Independence Celebrations for what its worth, remembering always that a few committed Bahamians gave their very last breath for your right to speak freely, even if you choose to insult us all by the tone and tenor of your question.
However, your inclusive question begs an answer. As a BI Member am I a talker or an actor? Well, my Mama say: "self-praise is no recommendation," so stay tuned and you will be able to make an accurate assessment of the various characters in the near, near future. In the mean time, may I suggest that you sharpen your mental machete, find your rusty ice-pick, try locate your grandmother's leaky slop-bucket and arm your 26 alphabetical soldiers, because you will need all your arsenal to engage in dialogue here on BI, unless ofcourse you simply wish to share the brain of the outspoken ones who will attempt to intimidate you into agreement.
Finally, Dear tjohnson, let no man, nor woman discourage you from speaking out, The Constitution, a document read by only a handful of Bahamians, guarantees you the right to speak freely in The Bahamas.
Again, it's your call! My position is to routinely tune into the BI chat from time to time to declaratively make points on issues of national concern, especially on days when I miss home and realize that unchecked foolish talkin' will result in the destruction of The Bahamas as we know it, thereby forcing me into permanent exile, or I read a thread that conjures childhood memories of that big dunce, pee-runnin'-down-his-leg boy who I used to beat-up for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Eight Mile Rock. Yeah! Some days, I get out my Tabasco hotsauce bottle and prepare for souse ___!

While that was moving, you should understand what tjohnson is all about. He is one of the alter egos of an online store and they basically post in as many threads as possible to mention the store name in some way. They were caught and called out about it and are now just doing their best to annoy. So before you extol the virtues of this person, check some recent threads and you will understand the hostility. I can assure you he will not be the least bit interested in what any of have to say unless it is to purchase something from him.
