I see alot of Bahamian women wearing their hair natural these days, but before I jump on the band wagon, I need to know that I can get "support" for those days when I can't do it alone.

There is a place called "Good Hair" with stylists for natural hair. I don't remember the location.
Advara aka Addy - I think she is still at Hair Team in Cable Beach
Monique at Style Unisex on Soldier Road, near to the Circle Palm Mall.

Welcome to the world of the NAPTURAL!
It is a journey I am happy to have taken.
There will be bad hair days. You will have to get used to all the feelings and emotions that will surface during the journey. It worth it though. I get a kick out of feeling the tight coils of my nappy (a word I've learned to embrace) hair, and fall asleep many nights with fingers in the cottony woolyness.
Check out napturality.com for hair tips.
I wanted to ask dis yesterday but glad someone brought it up....any body know a good jungalist who does braid and do house calls.i say jungalist cause dey does braid just as good as dem shi shi po po salons and dont cost a fortune.

Addy opened her own salon - Artcy Styles on West Bay above Neville Wisdom's headquarters
I have learned to embrace my curls and when I need a going out look, I get it blown straight and flat ironed. This works well in the winter/low humidity but in the summer I have wringlets by the time I walk to my car. Some days you can't fight it the best you can hope for is to contain it...so invest in a hat!

That's the same thing I do. I only have it blown straight and flat ironed about 3 times a year because I'm really not a hair person at all, so I keep it pulled back in a ponytail. When it IS sraight though, people with permed hair always say they wish their hair could be bone straight like mine. I have to laugh. Mine seems to stand the heat fairly well... It just can't take rough winters, rain, or mist/fog. I don't do hats very often. I can't really wear a hat to work. Lol.

I have a ponytail holder in my bag, my cosmetic bag, my briefcase, my glove compartment, my nightstand, my dresser....you get the picture. Girl with the humidity down here my hair is uncontrolable without, Infusium leave in conditioner, mousse and foaming pomade...with little effort and lots of product my wringlets don't get too big!
When I was little, I used to ask my mom why I had to have "UP" hair and I wanted "DOWN" hair like hers cause I hated having my hair combed for all the tangles.

Addy is one of the best hair stylists in Nassau when it comes to dealing with "caucasian" hair. She has done mine a couple of times and I have been really impressed. At least she hasn't been scared to cut it as many Bahamian hair stylists are.

She talks a lot though... And LOUDLY. At least she used to be when I went to her.

Try Karraw Bu Nat on Wulff Road opposite the Union Hall. Be prepared though to stay all day though.
