View Full Version : Is Jack Thompson a PS?
Bahman7 07-13-08, - 03:54 PM I agree wholeheartedly that Mr. Thompson should be considered for, at least, a PS. He has distinguished himself as an excellent PUBLIC SERVANT. I beg to to also agree with some of the previous post that Mr. Thompson is usually sent in to GET THE HOUSE IN ORDER and does a fine job of it. Not only that, but he has and continues to maintain the common touch, always knowing where he has come from and where he is going. We need more PUBLIC SERVANTS like him to continue to assist us as we MARCH ON BAHAMA LAND!
BTW:
I would go on record to say that just like how the elevation to Cabinet Minister of the Hon. Vanderpool-Wallace was for Tourism, Mr. Thompson should be offered the same with ANY Ministry....especially Transport or Local Government.
adidasboi987 07-21-08, - 08:59 PM das your cousin aye..
Da Educator 07-29-08, - 09:19 PM Then his calling isn't public life , its comedy like David Wallace.
If he is not, he should be one. He is ALWAYS available to speak to traffic issues. One of a handful who is able to speak/think on his feet.
He is also an MC, able to imitate both Ingraham and Christie to a TEE!!
To me,he always sounds like a clown. :bouncy:

watsayu 08-01-08, - 10:27 PM Jack Thompson is the Comptroller of the Department of Road Traffic.
He was transferred as Officer in Charge of the Passport Office to Road Traffic.
Under his watch at the Passport Office, many many problems and irregularities plagued that office. There were reasons why he was transferred to head another department instead of being promoted to P.S status.so sad.. so true...

My understanding was that Jack Thompson was DIRECTOR of Road Traffic.
I do know that he speak with forked tongue.
Here is how he operates:
Reporter: "Mr. Thompson, will you be at that meeting?
JT: "Well, I am a very busy man, and my schedule is full".
Reporter: "Did you know that your Minister Deveaux will be at the meeting?"
JT: (shaken) "Ummm ... I misspoke. I now realise that my secretary pencilled the meeting into my diary, and I will attend."
chaos 08-03-08, - 10:12 AM I finally understand this post. It only took about5 read-throughs. Haha. It's true that people like him should probably be in positions that require working with people and answering to the public.
As for your next post... I don't know what you're talking about there. There are major issues at the Passport Office, under any/everyone's watch. Lots of progress was made while he was there, and there seemed to be a step or two backward when the new guy stepped it, but there is quite a learning curve in there.
There are also "reasons" for everyone being moved from one department to the next. It seems to me that he goes wherever there is chaos and foolishness going on to straighten things out.
clearly there is still chaos at the Passport Office, therefore continuing with your theory, perhaps he is goes wherever theres is NO chaos and foolishness going on, as he can't straighten things out.

lol at beg to agree.
That being said and done, if he is that good, they would have promoted him. His transfer suggest otherwise.
bahama_rudest 08-03-08, - 11:09 AM It's usually crazy there during the summer months. Lots of people wait until the week before they are travelling to take their passport along with their four children's passports to be renewed. Lol. Maybe people just don't know that passports can be renewed up to six months before they expire. The Passport Office should probably start letting the public know that from March by using newspaper articles or something of the sort.
or mayb they should start accepting people by appointments only to avoid the congestion during the summer months. just as you have to get an appointment card to get your visa renewed maybe they should do the same so they could control the amount of applicants. that way many of those that wait last minute would then be forced to renew their passport during the slower months. once we see how quicker things would be during slow periods it might encourage us to do the same such as licensing and inspecting our vehicles during the second or third week of the month rather than wait till the last days and still complain about the long lines.
