Good question Licks, we need to look into it, one of my men use the wood from trees we take down, now you have me wondering where are these other folks getting their wood.

Its a fact that our charcoal burns better, cooks longer compared to imported coal.

Wonder how we can find out where the wood supply coming from.

Licks you see the docu about the Gorillas an how the little over 700 that is left are being endangered by the Charcoal Mafia...really. Its a 100 million dollar industry there and getting so out of hand those animals face extinction.

I had never imagined such things happen. This needs to be investigated. We cannot afford to have our country stripped of forestry.

Call enviromental ministry and let them know. Hell, call Sam Duncombe, I tellin' Earthcare Bahamas.

I understand they does bring in charcoal on them boats u see park out arawak cay.

This brings up another point........I have a good friend who ownes two fishing boats. He tells me one night he coming in and he see this dark thing in front of him. Say he thought he was on the way to Jesus. But it was one of them unseaworthy looking boats you see park out there from Haiti. Yesterday I count ten. He say they dont sail with no light whatsoever and he mad cause he got fine $600.00 one time when one of the lights on his boat did blow.

My question is this...........How are they even allowed in the harbor with no lights?

I was stopped by the defence boat coming from abaco late in may and they told me if they ever saw me out with out my running lights they will put the jail on top of me. now my last rip into nassau i saw about the same amount of fishing boats with no signal light park smack in the middle of nassau harbout what the hell is the law enforcers doing about that.
marine time law states that you neeed to have a posted light to warn boaters of your precence in the water but it seems asthou there is no law for these haitians sloops.:hammer:

Obviously someone getting paid off and the slackness going on in plain sight.

Wasn't it improper lighting that caused the seahauler accident?

We need to start a thread on this one.

Don't worry, Arawak homes soon solve that issue. As they buy up the land, the haitians them will move on and the trees, will the trees them will still have to move and dicarded, but at least it won't be used for coal no more.

Yea, they bring in charcoal from Haiti. Furthermore, if they cut down on all the trees then how will they hide the countless numbers or illegal Haitians and the little villages all over town.

MY GOD DNT SAY THAT! deforestation is no joke...I saw some material about haiti and its charcoal and it tore my heart in too...on one hand I understand you have to eat(but my god thats what the littoral (http://stoffle.bara.arizona.edu/anth203/lectures/203%20Lec%2019b%20Grubbing.pdf)is for) but at the same time its lack of respect- they doing to us what they did to their homeland...

I "vestigated" da "dem does bring dat from haiti" angle and one haitian bouy say dat dem charcoal een worth dat much ta bring dem from haiti. . .unless dem wan hide someting else. . .das da new way ta "sneg" stuff into places cos dem dogs gat prollem smelling "stuff" (***wink***) in charcoal! Heem say dat bringing jess five bags of charcoal from haiti take up enough space on dem lil boats and een worth dat much money. . .so why dem ger do dat!!! "Nah on da udder han". . .heem continued, "we does karry charcoal from here ta haiti. . . where we don cut dawn mos all er dem trees. . .das where ya make money from coal. . .not here!!! "Cos coal een plenty in haiti". . .heem reiterated!!!

Heem also tell me dat een nun er dem boats "blong" to haitians dem. . .dem bahamians boats dem! Das why dem cer come right uppin we teeth and een nobody ger do dem nothtin and een nobody takin dem when dem get katch in foolishness!!!

HEEM ALSO TELLS MA DAT DEM MARITIME PEOPLE KNOW WHO DEM BOUTS DEM BLONG TO. . .DAS WHY DEM EEN TOUCHIN DEM. . .SO STOP BLEAMIN DEM POOR HAITIAN PEOPLES DEM FER TINGS DEM EEN DOIN!!:hammer:
