Pkmeow this issue will run for a long time to come. It is causing waves here in the UK, and in the mean, this is a very liberal society but that seems to exclude quite a lot of the communicants unfortunately. I too worship at a Church of England for 20yrs now as my husband is so affiliated (he was CoE educated as well) but I was brought up a Baptist. Personally, I think the Africans are talking nonsense as homosexuals are to be found where-ever humans dwell. They pretend to be so holy but still refuse to desist from believing in their Fetishes and Juju.
The unaccepting nature of the clergy in the CoE has caused several of my colleagues and friends to leave the church because they said to me they are better off with people who have no affiliation with organised religions. Things were so bad for my son's God-father in Nassau that he try very hard to hide his sexuality all of his life and in the end moved away to the USA where he felt more free to be himself. Christians, and in particular those who are attending the Synod at the Bishop's Palace, need to remember who they are representing there .....Christ. It will also do them no harm to be like him and accept ALL who come to him in Faith. A neighbour I grew up next door to and who claims to be A Man of The Cloth but has no manners for his own Dad, told me that God will have nothing to do with Gays/Lesbians/Transgendered individuals ...
1- I don't know why God spoke to him and not me
2- if that is the case why did he make them that way. Ye without sin cast the First Stone!!!

I hear your point. I donot believe that God made people that way. I believe that my good Lord and Saviour made Man and Woman and people who lives this type of lifestyle chooses the same. It,s a matter of choice. We still love them but cannot accept their lifestyle. I didnot choose to be black. I was born this way and I love it. To God Be The Glory.:angel:

Well, you obviously do not have a problem accepting the fact that GOD made you BLACK, this is a biological fact. Even if you tried to bleach your skin, perm your hair bone straight, move to a white/conchiejoe enclave, and pretend to be as white as possible, you will always be BLACK, biologically, of course.

So WHY is it that you cannot accept the biological fact that none of us, gay or straight, CHOICE our sexual orientation. I know you must have gays in your family, hell, we all do... You may even remember growing up with them from childhood. Try asking them if their being "gay" was a CHOICE, especially living in a homophobic and schizophrenic society such as the Bahamas, where gays have been subjected to ridicule and undue violence.

Gays are born that way, and many, unfortunately, unlike you, do not love who they are and do not "accept" themselves because of society's stigma against gays. Many experience fear of rejection by their family and friends, not to mention the prejudice faced in society in the workplace, and yes, even in the church. Again, I ask you, with all this rejection from soceity, do you really believe that gays "choose" to be “gay”? THINK ABOUT IT...

Thats why for example people from India many have a darker hue than so called black persons generally have long sharp noses and straight hair. This is due to the climate they find themselves in.
