sangee it is two completely different banks! I have an account with one (I really don't want to call names out in the open) but some azzpole at MOE sent the money to a different account number at this other bank where I have never, ever had any dealings. (The name isn't even similar either)

I fell you AA. You might have to go to the treasury yourself and give someone one slow 50.

Don't say that CotK. She shouldn't have to pay for someone else's mistake. :(

Firstly, you will need to determine the root cause of the problem. Look at your actual salary slip and verify the bank code for the salary deduction. If it was incorrectly submitted by the MOE to the Public Treasury, then MOE erred. Now if the information appears correctly but wound up at the incorrect bank, then the Public Treasury is at fault.
Secondly, meet with your account manager and show your original salary slip to confirm the deductions, this would assist him in obtaining authorization to write off the late fees especially since you were not at fault. If the bank insists on the late fee payment then submit a letter to the party at fault requesting that they pay the outstanding charges due to their negligence. If you are faced with paying up front then write a letter seeking reimbursement and provide documentary proof of payment.
Bankers communicate with each other and can rely on the other bank for its due diligence. Hence, your banker can trace the funds, which are probably resting in a suspense account at the other bank. He can explain the situaion and then follow up the discussion in writing. At the click of a button the funds can be transferred by wire from one bank to the next.
Time is money, so you need to seek a speedy resolution.
Hope I was able to help...all the best!

I really need help people, any ideas? Please!

My 1st solution would've been to open an acct. at the said branch in Andros...ust to get the $$$; then, close it.

I have little loyalties to most a dem...cuz da ppl. in dem are mostly too inflexible and silly!!!

That said, and since it seems the thing is now caught up somewhere between all the banks, treasury and Education ... what you need is intervention from a 'DO-ER'! Lots a TALKERS in dis town! You must be very clear as to where the $$$ is... do you know that?

And the silly ppl in Andros sure don't appreciate your business... you should write to the mang. in Nassau or get someone from Nassau to follow from this end... Family Is. too full a nonsense to deal from that end... not to mention political...

That was why I decided to go public and stop suffering alone and in silence. Hoping that there might have been a do-er lurking around BI.

Anyway, some good news, I have just got off the phone having been told that both months payments are at the treasury (strange they weren't there a couple of hours ago!) and that treasury is cutting a cheque and will send it to my account at the Bank and it should be there by the middle of next week (of course, the fact that Monday is a holiday is the excuse for it not getting there sooner) So at least that will solve that bit.

Now how I go about getting all of the late fess etc cleared up along with my now bad credit rating will be another matter. I think I will be sending a letter to the Director of Education early next week as no-one will still put anything in writing as to why I am 2 months in arrears on my mortgage!

Listen, these things happen frequently and these crooked banks need to stop!

Treasury should be able to fax you a copy of the cheque and that should satisfy your bank until the actual arrives.... sillies...:realmad::realmad:

I don't think it's impossible to have your late fees covered by Education; but... your bank should be able to reason and reverse it... they like to act like computers/systems supersede human judgement... silly mutts..:realmad:

That's great...you're almost there!!

Your funds probably were wired from the incorrect bank directly to the Treasury's bank account at the click of a button.

Plus they will have to obtain voucher approval to disburse the funds to your bank. I suggest you follow through...

Once you submit a letter along with a copy of your salary slips and Treasury cheques to your account manager requesting a reversal of the fees, you will discover that it is possible, you only have to present your case. There is discretionary power at varying levels.

Before you cast blame, I again suggest you ascertain the root of the problem since it may be right before your very own eyes:
Check the salary deduction authorization form that you signed to verify that the deduction code matches that on your salary slip i.e bank code / name.
Check your salary slip to verify that the deduction is earmarked to your bank code / name.

I would suggest that you follow up with your bank next month to ensure there is no further problems.

If you are unable to obtain a written acknowledgement, you can outline your findings and provide supporting evidence to substantiate your claim.

Thanks TTB, the only problem right now is that I don't have the relevant salary slips. Remember things are slow over here on the islands. I will not receive these slips until school reopens in September :(
