The toddler and mother were shot in the legs last Friday.
I heard about the attack on Cabbage Beach on Monday from Cable 12 on Tuesday.
Zoe pound was mentioned somewhere in the "crime under control" article...IMO they are a huge problem not only because of their numbers...but because they do have an arsenal and know how to use it (some members are former Haitian police and military).
I was on cabbage beach on holiday monday and never heard of such attack, plus police had it barricaded and one was searched b4 getting on the beach, also no bokkles was allowed. Though there was it looked like a church group but alot of them spoke creole i was proud they brought a volley ball net and cleaned all their garbage afterwards. Also security was on atv on the beach

You are creating a scapegoat, and a dangerous one at that. Not only do ideas like this breed ignorance and incite violence, but they turn a blind eye to the real problem and allow it to grow unchecked.
Please, I beg of you, think before you speak.

Nice Try but its not gern ta work buddy, let me show you a serious wibe. I come from a certain Country to the Bahamas Illegally and I have 8 chirren. I am illegal, they are legal. They will have the right to vote. They will eventually grow up. They may eventually run for office. They may become the Govt or marry/date a govt official. They may directly or indirectly change laws that affect Bahamians either personally or by their spouse. Dont forget that all Illegal Immigrants are criminals hence the term Illegal Immigration. Illegal Immigration is a Billion Dollar Industry in the Bahamas whether you want to wake up and accept it or not with many people in high places involved which seems to be a big problem the Bran Mcc is trying to fix.

I have a former co-worker who has family (Bahamian Family) who makes their living from doing so, its the #1 criminal activity going on in this country, Drugs, Guns Poaching, Sex Slaves are all Crimes wrapped around Illegal Immigration amoung others. Not only should every single person who comes here Illegally be deported at the expense of their home country, but the Bahamians involved should be sentenced to life in prison, if you have children or very young family, they are going to have it a billion times worse than we are because they will reap what we sewed.

People like you try to create a scapegoat, and ignorance and incite violence, but they turn a blind eye to the real problem and allow it to grow unchecked.
Please, I beg of you to think before you speak because if you ever had the opportunity to go on the seas to see someone pay $5000 a head to not get arrested while importing not only Illegal Immigrants but Guns and drugs, what are you talking about, this is 2008 and you seem to not know whats really going on in The Bahamas but all hope is not lost for you because on B.I. you will get an education.

I agree with you but the police officers always deny this point of view...They say that the facts do not back up that view!!

True Obj as I will not expect the police to do the same but Baboon needs to understand that frustration occurs when people who are not registered or cannot get citizenship here because of either them or their parents who came here illegally, will only cause more frustration and then what, if they cant get a good paying job, get a loan, travel, what can they do, resort to violence to feed their families or use their families to change laws that will negatively affect the Bahamian people. I love all Nationalities but Law is Law and there is due process, you must pax the same taxes I have to pay no matter what Nationaltiy you are if your not Bahamian.

Stop Illegal Immigration, Bran Mcc get rid of these Corrupt Immigration Officers and Defence Officers and put them new Million Dollar plus Boats at the gateway of the Bahamas (Inagua) and stop this pressing problem on our economy. I have no problem with anyone coming here to live in my Country but come here legally, pay ya taxes and contribute. Put dem boats in Inagua and get rid of dese corrupt Bahamians who are commiting Treason against the country my children and grand children have to live and suffer in if it does not happen.....

The # one problem in this Country is Illegal Immigration because everything single piece of Crime which occurs in this Country is centered around Illegal Immigration.

I disagree that illegal immigration is the #1 problem.

Bahamians are more responsible then the Haitians for our crime problem....it is Bahamian politicans failing to work together to solve the situation.....

Bahamians like to pass the blame on to Haitians....while at the same time treating them like slaves and lesser human beings (and we will all be in church on Sunday proclaiming how Christian we are).

Bahamians need to stop blaming other people and take responsibility for the mess WE created. We allowed illegal immigration to become such a big problem.

Many people dont want to admit it but thats our main problem in this country. I say send erryone who came here illegally back home. I dont care if dey been here 30 years. I like what Bran is doing and I hope nobody start making noise about it. He need to run dem tractors down Cowpen Road, da back of Carmichael and St. Vincent Road. Make dem come out of hiding. Da Defence Force need to lock up da ones that come to visit they family at da Detention Center cause more than likely dey come here illegally too.

Come on now be honest. If you hear some of the names of the people committing crimes or search their background dey come from Haitian decent. I wont lie and tell you that Bahamians dont do their fair share of the crimes but da Haitians make up the large percentage of it. If we get our Immigration under control watch the decrease in crime.

I only heard about it from Cable 12 news. I have been wondering why there were no newspaper articles about it....
Maybe Cable 12 got the facts mixed up.

I think he's not blaming Haitians but saying that Illegal Immigration, that we Bahamians allowed to get out of control is the root problem. Not necessarily that Haitians are committing all the crimes but the strain that is put on the economy & our resources by them and the officials that profit from human, arms and drug trafficking etc. are a direct result from Illegal Immigration going unchecked.

But Hiphop, I agree with you 100% as I am also blaming us ,we Bahamians fa the Illegal Immigration we are not dealing with to day.

While I understand that things in our Brothers/Sisters country to the south is very bad, its not only about them but every single Illegal who comes here and I do agree with Bran Mcc with treating them humanely wheter by law or not but any nationality should be welcomed in this country as long as they are not criminals, pay taxes and contribute to society.......Law is Law and they (all Illegals) are just as much to blame for the problems as we are and we continue to pour gasoline on the fire by providing them with jobs, free education and free health care. Its our fault when we contribute to it and are not punished when we commit treason. Bahamians, stop commiting Treason against your own country (I am not exempt) if I dont do the proper research and was raided for having illegal workers working for me, I deserve the harshes penalty from the law, no Bahamian is excluded....

I am not 100% sure....but weren't some crime statistics published last year that showed that the percentage of Haitians committing crimes (convicted) was actually low?

Also, I'm not disagreeing that getting immigration under control won't decrease crime...it will. But it is the fault of Bahamians that there is such a problem now.

We failed to do anything about it. So let's not blame the Haitians...let's blame our politicans for not acting and ourselves for voting for the same two worthless political parties each election.

Bahamians and Politians are at fault. We hire the Illegal Immigrants and the Politians and them help smuggle them into the country. I guess we should have listened to Mr. Roker.
