mediaboss 08-08-08, - 09:06 AM This country is in serious trouble since most rank and file officers on the Force have a total disregard for the laws that they are supposed to enforce. The scandal at Central Police Station is just the tip of the iceberg.
generalcrazy 08-08-08, - 09:08 AM they cant control the traffic, they think they can control the crime?

asterz57 08-08-08, - 11:05 AM An outside agency need to come in and conduct a thorough investigation on the Police Force from top go straight down. After the investigation is completed the Government especially da PM need to do what needs to be done to clean up the force or crime will only get worse in the Bahamas.

If this is a state of "crime under control" I don't want to see what its like when crime is out of control.
Let's review some recent crime news:
-Toddler and mother shot
-Man runs over woman and shoots at police
-Drowned bodies showing up all over the place
-Immigration officers shaking down immigrants for sex
-Corrupt police at central police station
-A second attack on cabbage beach on a holiday...boy attacked with a cutlass
-Man arrested for two murders
-Escaped prisoner and most wanted man is out here somewhere considered armed and dangerous
-Zoe pound got more and better guns then the police
-Police warning against vigilanteeism
Sadly this is all becoming too normal....
And to top it off, we got a bunch of crooks and liars sitting in the HOA supposedly running the country...(rant over...sorry)

The toddler and mother were shot in the legs last Friday.
I heard about the attack on Cabbage Beach on Monday from Cable 12 on Tuesday.
Zoe pound was mentioned somewhere in the "crime under control" article...IMO they are a huge problem not only because of their numbers...but because they do have an arsenal and know how to use it (some members are former Haitian police and military).

Can you say Martial Law??? Drastic Times call for drastic measures. If this Zoe Pond foolishness is not taken into hand soon, tings only ga get worse. Dey soon storm Parliament...das if da Bahamian criminals doon do it first.
Martial law is the system of rules that takes effect when the military takes control of the normal administration of justice.
Martial law is sometimes imposed during wars or occupations in the absence of any other civil government. Examples of this form of military rule include Germany and Japan after World War II or the American South during the early stages of Reconstruction. In addition it is used by governments to enforce their rule, for example after a coup d'état (Thailand 2006), when threatened by popular protests (Tiananmen Square protests of 1989), or to crack down on the opposition (Poland 1981). Martial law can also be declared in cases of major natural disasters; however most countries use a different legal construct, such as a "state of emergency".
In many countries, martial law imposes particular rules, one of which is curfew. Often, under this system, the administration of justice is left to a military tribunal, called a court-martial. The suspension of the writ of habeas corpus is likely to occur.

You are creating a scapegoat, and a dangerous one at that. Not only do ideas like this breed ignorance and incite violence, but they turn a blind eye to the real problem and allow it to grow unchecked.
Please, I beg of you, think before you speak.

I agree with you but the police officers always deny this point of view...They say that the facts do not back up that view!!
