Even so the mean is still closer to D...

Agreed here! Many here ranting probably couldn't earn that same D on most of these exams!!!

... We should have academic schools like the old GHS and more technical and vocational schools as well as schools for the performing and visual arts that are graded on a different scale.

Agreed again! Yet, public schools do the BEST job here too--- or, is it only public school students that need 'Skills' training?

Wel Obj Th, da power rests in the hands of da people....and da ppl could speak more than just at a poll every five years.......
dont know what this gat to do with thiefing da haitian money, but we talking bout education man.stay focus aye! and da bahamian ppl could demand more from these lousy politrickians.........Carl bethel included.......we need to completely revamp education.........need to put ppl with the expertise in charge.......not political cronies.
da reason why so many children failing is because of these same failed policies by these same ole people still occupying the administration of education..........still stuck in the past......maybe we should learn from the barbadian educational system.......free education through university and sound policies.......
How bout dese chirren failin bcuz a) they had improper upbringing and parents do not check or push/demand success
b) they dont take up personal responsibility c) system they find themselves is defunct d) a,b and c

If there were more specialized schools, public or private, parents would have more choices on where to send the children. Some now enrolled in private schools may opt for alternative schools if there were more of a choice.

what trick they are trying to pull.
are they trying to take advantage of the Bahamian people short term memories!!
the National grade point average last year was a D+ and NOT a D.
I remember them saying it as clear as yesterday.
now the FNM want to make it seem like it improved from a D to D+
NONSENSE!!!!!!!! IT WAS A D+ LAST YEAR AND NOW IT IS A D+ THIS YEAR.
NO IMPROVEMENT!!!
