I normally call to get a break down of my bill, are you ready for this (no joke)

Bill: $33.00
Energy Surcharge $55.00

Umm I have a question...(and remember I don't live in the Bahamas)...but how can the energy surcharge be more than the actual bill...and what is energy surcharge...because ( and this is my logical mind ) shouldn't you be charged for the amount of electricity you use? so what the dingits is an energy surcharge?

Im not expert but this is calculated from the cost of fuel or something like that.

Now, you asked about one of the great mysteries of all time! There are three charges on the bill. First (in my case) a $3.00 minimum charge. Then there is “First 800 KWH/MONTH” which is .150000 per KWH. Bring up the tail end is the fuel Surcharge which is .212648 per KWH.
The second charge has some fuel charge in it. The last changes as oil goes up - yet to see it go down. All this means we are paying .36c per KWH. Most places in the States pay about 9c.

I am only gald it ain't more!!!! I have a feeling it will be soon! 36c a kilowatt hour!!!!!! It is way to much!!!!
