We all know that Hubert Ingraham ain't called Hubigetty for nuttin'. Seeing how Robert Farquharson had absolutely no care for the economic welfare of this country by shutting down Bay Street and the poor message that this approach sends to the youth of this country, what do you think the PM is planning to do to fix Farqui business?
Two bigetty people, all two cannot win. One thing is sure, he won't be treated like Tommy T was treated today.

I think we all agree that PM Ingraham appears to be a stern no- nonsense character but I say when your powerful be merciful don't try punish a fella who tried to get your attention in a civilize manner and when he couldn't took another route. Some of us place the PM on a pedastil becuz he appears to be Mr. Ruff and Tuff but I think everybody has a boiling point you just got to get them to that point , for PM Ingraham his boiling point appears to come quicker than others but don't underestimate the common man , everybody head is swing.

Come on Educator, I expect better of you. Any man who employs such guerilla tactics ain't negotiatin', he has decided that society should descend into anarchy. This man would have been jailed if he dared do this bullsh*t in the U.S. If the Haitian immigrants had done the same thing in Nassau Village or City 2000, you and a whole host of persons on this website would have been screaming holy hell!

We must have law and order prevail, and something of this nature must not occur without heads rolling. If we yield to Farqui, then we must not yell when the legal or illegal immigrant population tries to replicate such tactics. A very bad message was sent today. Furthermore, if the Minister of National Security can be treated so disrespectfully, and look as though he is powerless without Hubert alexander Ingraham, then he needs to be FIRED NOW!

The privatization committe has just begun to meet....when they have formulated their plans they will meet the union....get over it this has nothing to do with Leon!
And the new BTC chairman doon play so the union can cry all they want....they don't have no puppet in charge of BTC dese days! The people are in charge of BTC.And mark my words Mr Francis WILL find this out.

One must be blind or stupid not to see that the union and its members are simply afraid of privatization on the whole. Farqui, knows that at this point in the privatization of BTC, the union really is not involve as yet. The government and the potential buyer will iron out some issues and then it is send to the union to give their input and according to the give and take an agreement will be iron out. So at a certain point the workers of BTC, the Bahamian people and the buyers will be satisfied.
But, it appears that the union has had a change of mind relative to privatization. Also amidst the privatization talk, the union is trying to close negotiations on their new industrial contract. So in effect the union is trying to get more money for their members. It is all one big game.
By the way i know that a union must always try to get the best for their members, but they must also be responsible in their actions.
BLOCKING TRAFFIC ON BAYSTREET OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ROAD IS JUST NOT GOOD AT ALL!!

Yes Rockwell,

The people are in charge of BTC, and that is why they should all be fired for trying to sabotage and wreck this country's main industry and expending thousands of tax payer dollars to demonstrate on the people's time.

You think Farqui and crew remembered that the Bahamian people are in charge of BTC? Not the employees of BTC, but we the paying public.

Guerilla tactics. Its a movement to be heard. Thats all . I see nothing wrong. Why do Bahamians hold the United States in high regard when it comes to us evaluating ourselves as if the US is so self righteousness or without condemnation , we cannot compare our troubles with the US, they are distinctly different they are distinctly bahamian. I agree that Law and order must be held but equality as well i see a gathering of people who are concerned with their well being and future status on their jobs , had it been us we would be rite there as well. Farquaharson may have headed it but all those present out there must have some reason why they felt they needed to be out there, everyone must be accountable to themselves and for themselves. Secondly where do you see a Minister come down from his office or ministry to tame an uprising or protest , it hardly happens. Minister Turnquest took a risk he probably knew wouldnt be enuff to tame the protesters. Why didnt the DPM/ acting PM go down . Where was he? you want to fire a man because he couldnt tame protesters. Thats nonsense . PM Ingraham would not have been able himself all he would have promised them is an opportunity to hear them and their concerns in private. Would you fire him for that?

I'm not suggesting that he be fired because he couldn't tame the protesters. He should be fired because he reasoned that he could convince an imbecile to abort his heavy handed guerilla tactics after listening to a pathetic plea from the Minister of National Security. If Tommy T were leadership material, then he would have known that the only way to respond would have been to arrest all of the participants, and have the tow truck operators impound every last one of da peoples trucks to da *****in' MOW compound. Case Closed. You don't beg a TERRORIST to comply with the law! Even George Bush know dat!

Farqui said that this was Step 1, and that there are 8 steps. Now dis is obviously a man who believes that he and his followers are above the law. Or, perhaps he believes that his balls are bigger than Tommy T or any of the cops. Either way, someone ga get stand down.

Brown Suga: You know this isn't the first privatization committee right? They been meeting and talking for years about this since 1999 and the BCPOU was always kept abreast of what was going in with regards to the process.

The "new" (HI) privatization committee started to meet right before Leon Williams was fired. This lends a lot of credence to what Objective had to say.

As I said in another thread: how come we didn't see any of these mass, industrial union vs. executive-mangement disputes when Mr. Williams was president/ceo?

I hadn't thought about it like that, but it does make a lot of sense. Hmmm.......

P.S. To stay on topic though: I think HI will be cuttin some serious tail when he come off that cruise!! How he'll be all relaxed and well rested. All I can say is Farquie look out!
