First of all, let me state that the atmosphere in BTC is positively rotten. Corruption is so endemic that employees are cowed and respond only to whom they perceive as the current top dogs in the power structure. For example, Vice president Henry is boffing (Sweethearting) Janet who previously was boffing Ellie, while another of couple vice presidents have sweetheart deals with outside vendors. In the meantime, Engineering gets all of their work done for them by Nortel, and the post-paid company will not co-operate in getting audited and leaks millions of dollars. Pre-paids are being skimmed by a layer of management.
Erryone gern have a crap when they found out that a Markham company, WireIE got an untendered contract to take over the Wifi. Especially Nortel will scream bloody murder when they find their business being taken away from them in spite of the bribes that they were forced to pay.
And as for the unions and Farquie, they know labour law. For example, after the sale of BTC, the new owners are not obliged to honour the union contract. Ther will be huge blood on the floor.
They also know that they are not legally required to keep any employees in place before the sale -- unless 50% of the new owners work force belong to the same union.
They also know the privatisation committee is looking for an established operator -- Not the Bluewater type. That way, the new operator can move in a ready cadre of trained employees to operate the company properly. The union knows all of this.
They know that after the sale, they can even be de-certified to represent BTC.
So the glory days for the unions are over. They are scum sucking pigs who live high off the dues of the ordinary worker.
And one more thing -- I'd like to correct a misconception stated here -- in fact, the privatisation committee has already met.
i hope that all these things are not true or are exaggerated, who can they hire to clean up the mess or is that the problem to many people are hired?
