The rules vary depending on the vertical market, but there are ways around it - how do you think the lawyers make all the money?

Very good Point, did not think of it like that, so would a minister have the ability to allow certain exceptions to this rule, I guess so that an individual who does not have Bahamian Residency to operate a business in the Bahamas?

That's retarded.
I could see if you ask for a specific person but you want a list of everybody?? And I do think those people have rights themselves. They only relinquish that right when they come to you asking for a job and such. At least that would make sense to me.It is the duty of the minister of immigration to report to parliment on the amount of citizenship and PR that are granted... however this rearly happens.... names are not given... but you can ask the Minister to be specific in which case the minister should give how many a month, what nationalities etc....

This is important for national development.....

I feel we should be asking more and how how many work permits are granted and the occupations etc, and the amount of people deported in given periods and to which countries as well....

We should KNOW....

Thats a good point to, I guess releasing ones name may stir up some controversy and privacy issues which is understandable so I guess its a case of the public having the right to limited information which should be discussed in detail in parliment.....What Say You?

I feel it would be most irresponsible for any MP to use a private citizen's name... it will not be right... and I do not think in this case it will be allowed... unless there is grave concern in the national interest...

I just hope that these Union Leaders can stop using emotionalism for personal agendas. I could understand them striking in a more responsible way but they are using Vigilantism to spread thier message and its going to hurt them more than help them because quick fast and hurry, the people who they are fighting for would turn their backs on those same union leaders if their back were against the wall so they need to be careful too, money compromises a lot of people and I guess thats the case now...but trust me, I dont think thats something for you to leave for because in other countries, people would lose their lives for that especially fa going against your govt or a govt cooperation, one thing I could say is that we have way more freedom compared to other countries, as simple as stating how we feel about Bahamasissues on the internet, in some countries, they will trace you and God knows what....Its better in the Bahamas, dont let that discourage you.....

Does anyone know the current price for a work permit for an employee from another Country?

Giving out names, makes people targets of extreme xenophobia. Just recently in South Africa they were targetting immigrant communities with violence. I am no proponent of illegal immigration, but there are many people here with legal status that was obtained through legal and transparent means.

As far as the right for information, I want to know where I can find the salaries for public officials and those serving in the public service.

That was harsh. I hope you say that to everyone who is disappointed by some of the things that happen in this country. Many others have expressed far more militant ideas than leaving in response to the BTC foolishness and you did not tell them to carry their azz. I bet you and other Bahamians have expressed desire to leave the foolishness behind sometimes. Are you angry that I have another option?
