Why is the pope called Holy Father, which the bible says you shouldn't do?
Only God can forgive sins. Not a pope, priest, cardinal.
The pope appears to have taken on authority which does not belong to him.
Adds up to anti-christ to me.
Do catholics check out if what their "church" teaches lines up with scripture?
We won't even go into the Mary syndrome.
Your dilemma, that of the Pope and Anti-Christ, can be summed up in: when he who believes he is superior to God in heaven unites with he who believes he is superior to God on Earth, the Anti-Christ will be born.

A good Roman Catholic would reply that they receive Jesus every time that they partake of the Eucharist. Jesus is sacrificed again for the sins of the world during the consecration of the Host by the priest during the ceremony of the Eucharist. It is the holiest part of the mass. The faithful then receive Jesus in the blood and body of holy communion for the remission of their sins. The RC church dispenses salvation through the sacraments of the church, of which holy communion is but one of seven. She is referred to many times in both the old and new testaments.You are right .. but the hightlighted maybe a little over the top.. sacraments are signs of God's grace to us....

Hebrews 7:26-28

26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Jesus is The High Priest that was just sacraficed once for sin. There is no need for Him to be sacrificed again and again through some religious ceremony. The RC cannot dispense salvation because it is a free gift from God. Once again man tries to replace God in power that only belongs to Him. I believe the RC is referred to in the Bible as the counterfeit church that Satan has set up.

Continue to keep the peace Peaceful. You are obviously on the Path, CG also; I never expected to meet other travelers here, very pleasant surprise. Bear in mind that we are hardly ever at the same place on that Path. CommonSenseProphet is obviously a zealot, for better or worse. However they are quite correct scripturally in saying that 'God is the separator.' Sounds ironic yes, but it is God and God alone Who will at His harvest finally separate the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats.

The RC church teaches that salvation is not attained through grace alone, but through the sacraments of the church, especially baptism, confession and holy communion. This is confirmed in both Vatican I and II. If this is surprising to you, it may be because you don't realize that the RC church teaches that the dogma or traditions of the church are superior to scripture alone for guidance and edification. A good Roman Catholic accepts the infallibility of the Pope.
