whatsaysu's, Jesus was indeed talking about His church. Anybody that tries to take His place and authority is obviously not a part of His church but those very gates of hell. Peter would be wondering who are these people that claim me (Peter) as their patron saint but don't follow me as I followed Christ.

Highjacking a thread is easy but checking out your religion and what you believe must be too hard a task.

CG not confused at all. Threadjacking is just another part of everyday life. There were some guys who shaved their heads and vowed not to eat until they killed the messenger Paul. In the end they prepared themselves for their own burial. If I quote from the Word of God and a person comes against me they're actually coming against God who gave the Word. When Paul was Saul he had to learn the lesson the hard way and get knocked off his high horse and brought low before he could understand. Jesus didn't say Saul why are you persecuting and killing my people, He said "Why are you persecuting Me"? You see my Father God knows how to get His point across.

Hate Lesson

I do not hate people and according to the Word you can't hate me. But the hatred that is hurled towards believers is a hatred of Jesus. It's sad that so many just don't want to hear the truth and be set free. Only "The Truth" can set you free.

John 7:7

Actually, I have been “riding” for most of my life. My field of study, teaching and practice has been the great world religions. I have studied then all and practiced most. I have a very warm heart for peoples of all religions.


What I do object to are those that feel that their way is the only way. The Great Three, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, are often intolerant. It is a weakness that some have been able to over come - most have not. I posted something here about an extraordinary experience I had in India (perhaps someone can find it and show it to you. Don’t have the time to do it now.) Peoples of all religions can work together for the betterment of mankind - if they only want to. I pray we all want to. :)

If no one can find the story I will look for it later. Got to "keep" Temple (Buddhist) soon.

But religion (and to a lesser extent, politics) is one of the most interesting subjects there is.
