I was saddened the other day to see one of the Bahamas' great boxers in his time, straggling the street of kemp road.....do any of you remember the man called "Baby Rolle" ? He had a very promising career in boxing, and was at a time one of Muhamad Ali's sparring partners. He had some very notable fights and was a Bahamian champion. He is just one of many Bahamian legends that we have failed in the past, failed to recognise their contributions nationally, failed to promote these people and failed to keep track of them and render assistance to them in their time of need. Another noteworthy gentleman comes to mind and he is none other than Trevor Grant, we have failed them miserably.
Yes we have! And the two gentlemen you mention are only two in a much larger number of people in many endeavors of life, that we have forgotten.

sad but true,we should never 4get the joy and adjulation we felt when Elisha obed became middle-weight champion of the world, when Bradley cooper won bronze in the Olympics, and even local champions like Maryan higgs,Anthony williams "the marathon man"i saw Anthony beggin with a placard 2 raise-funds 4 his operation, this broke my heart, they set the trend and put the Bahamas on the world stage of international sports, and so 2 answer your question?we squeeze all that we could get out of them and let them fade away. :rip:
