HIV thrives because of ignorance.

This is silly, at some point you have to trust the person enough to believe what they tell you. Otherwise, how do you propagate the species? I shouldn't be expected to protect myself from someone that means no harm.

If a police officer tells you that you have to give them your car because it is a police emergency and they need the vehicle - you do it.

If a fireman enters your home and asks you to leave - you do it.

If you see someone dying and a stranger walks up and says I am a doctor please back away - you do it.

At some point you trust what you are told. And in each of those cases those people could've been lying. Each of those cases you put yourself at risk. But because the person holds a position of trust, you accept what they say. The same with my spouse or significant other. If she says that she is knowingly not HIV positive, or that she is on birth control (since we threw pregnancy in the mix), then I am not at fault for giving a person - that any other reasonable person - a certain degree of trust.

If you find yourself walking around with a condom stitched to your body completely afraid of the women your are with - then you need to stop having sex altogether.

Trying to lay blame at the feet of the victim is the height of human indecency, disgrace and stupidity. It questions the basis of humanity that at some point we have to trust.

Valid Points, like I mentioned to one earlier, you still have to live your life but it comes with tremendous responsibility and if you feel the need to use a condom with someone, obviously you should not have sex with them (excluding if you and the person want to avoid pregnancy) but if its from a lack of trust, why sleep with that person, its as if you know you settin yaself up fa sumptin if the condom burst or is not used corredtly.

I was going through the basic channels last night as I am not sure but I think I saw the most disgusting ridiculous thing ever on T.V.
There was a Police Officer's Photo up with some information in regards to the Sexual Offenders Act (or something like that).
Anyway, I started to read it and it said (please correct me and I hope that I am wrong but it said) that ANYONE WHO IS KNOWINGLY INFECTED WITH HIV/AIDS AND HAS SEX WITH SOMEONE AND DOES NOT TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS, THEY WILL ONLY GET UP TO A 5 YEAR JAIL SENTENCE.
What kind of garbage is that?
I thought the most ridiculous law in the Bahamas was the 7 year max prison sentence for a beast who would rape an innocent angel and leave her in the bushes near B.E.C. on Blue hill road fa dead but this just as bad or even worse to a certain extent because HIV/AIDS is an automatic earlier death sentence.
Off course we are all going to die but we all know that HIV/AIDS robs you of the rest of your life/dreams/goals/future (or at least most who are not strong enough like others to carry on) without any hope (and the only possible thing you can do is put your life in Gods hands).
But come on man, supposed that very same child who was raped by that beast was infected because of that piece of thrash. She cant have a family (cause from what I know, her womb had to be removed because of how badly she was destroyed), she probably wont even make it to High School or College. Her future is gone.
But that same piece of thrash who serves less than 5 years will be out to roam and infect more persons again.
What is wrong with these people who have the ability protect society?

Five years, what the hell is that all about.. One would think that this is just as bad as holding a gun to someone's head and shooting them.. The end result is usually the same right.. death to the person on the receiving end..

My point exactly, if the victim has a death sentence, then the rapist should recieve a death sentence too with the ability too spread it to others with an attitude of I een gat nothing to loose and if I gern down, everybody else goin down with me too.....

I shouldn't be expected to protect myself from someone that means no harm. Like crossing the road trusting that cars will stop because you on a cross walk.. Don't think they will mean to harm you.

My body my responsability
If I have unprotected sex with someone I know I risk of HIV infection.
Yes there is a matter of trust as I trust my wife.
