Gay people that travel have money! They like to live "jet set" lives and spend extravagantly. Why turn away their tourist dollars, we have to think smart, this is a changing world. Who am I to dictate and force feed my strong beliefs on others. All American money is green so why not take it. A Gay persons dollars is no lesser than a straight persons so why not take it?

Boy thats a strange point. Just do it for the money. Forget about values and morality. This country is heading straight to hell with gays running the government, the police, the church every danm thing! I waan get off!

If GLBT ran this country it would be a better place for all.
Don't blame wife beating on GLBT
Don't blame teenage pregnancy on GLBT. HHmm how about the MP that got a 12 year old pregnant a few years ago?
Don't blame adultery on GLBT
Don't blame crime on GLBT
Don't blame porn on GLBT
Don't Blame poverty on GLBT
Don't blame the greed in the churches on GLBT

You want me to come up with more....

AINT NOBODY STOPPIN U; IT TOO CROWDED ANDD HOT ANYWAY. look no matter how much religion you throw around and try to down play money. MONEY IS IMPORTANT. it takes money to run a country and in our country we depend on tourist dollars, the reason the minister of tourism got on that ship and apoligised was becuase they know the back lash that the bahamas could face if it is branded as a anti-gay destination. u have all this mouth now but i betcha if gay tourist contributed to 75 percent of our tourist dollars and they were banned from the country and the spit hits the fan, you would be the first one skiddin out.

They are not confused they know what they are. Its others that don't understand or want to understand or accept GLBT as human beings.

Duh how big is Jamaca How many ports. Hey and they go to Mexico to.

Where would we put the cruise ships Potters Cay.

Just found this
http://travel.gaynewsblog.net/2005/04/troubled-jamaicas-call-for-one-love.html
The perception of Jamaica as a tourist destination unfriendly to homosexuals has been circulating for some time. Those who visit here are generally advised to maintain a reasonably low public profile or head to one of a handful of gay-owned and gay-friendly resorts on the island

Jamaica has more for Gays that we have..

well jamaica would have more gays than the bahamas becuase they have a poulation about five times that of the bahamas. but the link that vicky posted goes to show us, we no longer live in the dark ages, so as a country we need to watch how we represent our selves becuase today all a potential visitor has to do is go to a search engine and type in a phrase and pull up all kinds of things about the bahamas and compare us to other destinations.

What % of the traveling public you think will go to a site named travel.gaynewsblog when looking to make travel arrangements? FYI....if Vick or some other sexually confused person did not post this or some similar site would you have ever gone there or know of its exsistence? :shaky:

i wasnt meaning specifically that website. what i meant was lets say a visitor wanted to know the gay atmosphere in the bahamas all they would have to do is go to a search engine and type. "gays in the bahamas" "bahamas on gays issues" etc and they will pull up websites possible travel.gaynewsblog would be in the results.

but i am not just talking about our issues on gays i am talkin everything. we need to watch how we represent our selves to guest. do we come off as friendly? is the place clean? is it going to be a pleasurable experiance? becuase these visistors come here and then go home and write about their experiance on the web which stays there forever in cyber space for any one anywhere in the world to access. in the old days it use to be if a visitor had a bad experiance the would tell a few friends and it would affect 100-200 people tops, today if a visitor has a issue they post it on the internet wich afects MILLIONS of people. THATS REALLY DEEP.

the visitors of 2005 people write reviews on orbitz, travelocity, expedia, carnival, disney, royal caribbean, travelwiz and a host of other travel web sites.

do we want a review like this that was found at http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g147414-d148004-r3504453-Nassau_Beach_Hotel-Bahamas.html

Oh, where do I begin.
The staff was exctemely rude, obnoxious and lazy. They can't even look at you when they talk to you. You have to ask them 4-5 times for something to get done. People follow you everywhere hassling you to buy something (including drug dealers!) go into town and get everything at a third of the price. The necklaces are 3 for $10 in town not $20 like they ask you at the beach.
The ceiling leaked constantly and no one came to fix it.The cab drivers will try to get more money out of you too. For reference it's $15 from the airport to the hotel (our guy tried to charge us $25).
Very important is that the hotel blocks 1-800 numbers so when you call your airline (we changed our flights to come early cos we couldn't stand it) they charge you international rates. We paid $20 to change our tickets and $50 to call the airline!
The food is ok but expect better for what they charge.
Get your drinks at the Daiquiri place accross the street they hardly put any rum in your drinks at the beach bar.
Overall a crumby place and made my vacation miserable. The people are horrible and I would strongly recommend that you go ANYWHERE other than the bahamas for your vacation.

or do we want a review like this on the world wide web taken from

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g147414-d151524-r3505823-Holiday_Inn_SunSpree_Resort_Paradise_Island-Bahamas.html

I have a family of 4 and we stayed here April 24th through the 28th. I did book a smoking room but was told the 2nd floor was littered with spring breakers so I was given a room on the 8th floor non-smoking but it didn't stop us from smoking. I too showed up early, but they held my luggage for me and gave us all our wristbands and we hung out poolside until it was ready. The room was clean, smelled fresh, plenty of towels every day. The food could be better in the buffet, but it was okay. No problem getting a reservation in the restaurant. The outdoor bar was the best in my opinion. They actually have waiter service poolside - just order your food and drinks and they bring it to you, no need to get up from your lounge chair. The best was the outdoor barbeque that went on every day and nightly enetertainment. The elevators were always there for me - I never had a problem with them. I almost changed my reservation after all the negative posts I saw and I'm glad I didn't. It looks as though the negative posts came from individuals that didn't get their way. There was plenty for the children to do and that is what I was looking for. I had friends who stayed at Atlantis same time I was at Holiday Inn and they wasted $5000 on a meal plan and were never served because no one told them they had to make reservations before they arrived. My applause to the most friendliest staff in the world - I would definitely return!

i dont think alot of bahamians in the tourist industry relise just how much how they treat guess or everytime we make headlines, good or bad, can come back to huant us.
